What's in a Name?
No, this isn't about domain names or business names. It's about our personal names. Some user names make clear what is the person's name. However, some user names have obscure meanings, so I go to their profile to get a name. I guess I just like names. When I look at your profile, and read about you, I also look for your first name.
I had to laugh today, when one of my new follower's profile told us he has a wonderful wife named Bettie -- but I have no idea what his first name is! LOL! I've noticed that women are more likely than men to include their name somewhere in their profile -- at least in the hundred or so I've looked over. Gentlemen, please, share a nick name or something! :-)

I've never been able come up with creative names anyhow. I prefer the real name also. It makes me feel funny when I don't know who I'm addressing, it's like someone wearing thick sunglasses. How do you know they're looking at you when you talk to them? Just my two cents.
I am old school and I like a person to be who they are and why hide under a other name ????
Hi Diana, well all I can say is that's men for you, we are a different breed lol. I have been thinking about this one, point taken.

Hi Diana my name is Sam and the omission wasn't a man thing, but a proud husband thing in elevating his wife and family value to me as I had stated earlier in my "like" comment to your statement that was sent to me. I do for the record agree with you that there is value in a name.
Hi Sam.
I hope you don't mind that your post prompted my blog. Really, I think it's just lovely that you have such a good perspective on the value of our families.
Blessings to you.
