Hello WA team!

I created a website on google and now want to move it to WA. I have already purchased the new website on WA - asked site support to move it over -

My question is - I have posted this link on Facebook, Linkedin and Pinterest - will my followers be automatically redirected to my new URL?

Thank you!

Thank you and yes on #1. Also I did not think about my fb links. I will need to update those as well.

I've done this several times now. All are wordpress sites that I've had for years. One thing to be aware of is that sometimes (happened to me once) something that should copy over here doesn't, and you'll need to get site support involved.

In my situation it was a large old site (on dogs) and the images didn't copy over. I'm still working on it. Site support here couldn't get them.

So be sure to check your site here before you change the name to it here.

I just want to be sure I understand your situation.
1) You owned a domain name and created a website for it with another company.
2) You purchased a new domain name at WA and asked site support to move your domain website from #1 to WA.

A website move means that your old website address points to your new domain name address including all of the pages.

If you put your Facebook links in your new website that will handle the redirect situation.
Eventually you will be getting rid of your old domain/website from #1 so you will want to change any links in Facebook that pointed to your #1 domain name website address. .
