Relaxation Vacation
How is it we've passed the middle of the year already? Where did these past six months go?
I was painfully aware that, since the beginning of the year, I had only taken off one day for medical reasons. I had been working forty to fifty hours a week. I was desperately craving a relaxation vacation.
My wife and I decided a vacation was in order and that we were going to spend about five days around the July 4th holiday in Fort Lauderdale Florida. We were very familiar with the area having lived in the Boca Raton area for eleven years.
We were looking to unwind by reconnecting with our close friends, hanging at their pool, taking in some sun and relaxing. Leaving work far far behind. No emails. No text. Nothing work related. Time to totally shut it down for five days and recharge.
Being a person of faith, the scripture from Ecclesiastes 3:1 was resonating mightily in my Spirit.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens
It was time for a season of rest. My heart was telling me to relax and recharge.
We were blessed to be able to stay with our awesome friends. So the rent was just perfect ($0 LOL). We’ll return the favor in October when they visit us in the fall and come up to attend harvest parties and festivals as the leaves are perfect in color.
Having raised our kids together (five between both families) we are very tight. We love them all dearly and all of our kids are all still very close to this day. With them now all having kids of their own children, we LOVE being together with them having their kids running around. It sooo refreshes our Spirit.
Today, we actually spent some time having a morning "Ninja Party." Looking at the picture it may be hard to tell who the kids are?
We’ve had so much fun. Laughing and joking, reminiscing and recalling the fun times.
We spent the morning relaxing around the pool at their home. In the late afternoon, we attended their 4th of July party for dinner and watched fireworks at the beach that night. What an AWESOME day!
We're grateful for the life God has blessed us with. We have so much to be thankful for and we know the best is yet to come. Our faith is very strong. We stand on the promises of God's word. Our trust and faith has been challenged at times, but we stand firm with great expectation for the favor God will be bestow on us in the future.
God's word tells us to "be still and know that I am God-Psalm 46:10
We've been able to slow down and see our blessings these past few days.
Often, you don’t realize how much you need to relax until you make time for a relaxation vacation like the one we're on!
So, take time for yourself and live a life with balance. We only have one life on this earth! Make the most of the time we've been blessed with.

My wife and I are planning almost 3 weeks on a trip to see grandkids for the first time since the start of COVID. The trip in both directions will be relaxing. The first half to rest up for the time with the grandkids and the second half to recuperate.

yes for sure, everyone needs to take time and relax and enjoy the beauty that God has given us.
We are very blessed with our beautiful beaches, forrests, and
the basic everyday beauty all around us. Family is the utmost importance, without family there is nothing.
Enjoy the children,wife and the beauty around you, and that makes for the perfect RELAXATION.
