Looking back.
I just began Level 4, Lesson 7 in my affiliate training. This lesson is titled "THE BENEFIT OF BEING SOCIAL AT WA". This is the lesson where we are to write another blog...about what we've learned, how far we've come and in general, document progress.
After giving it some though, I decided to split this article into two parts. Part #1 will contain everything that I got wrong. Everything that I would consider a set back and all those things that are not working out the way I thought they would as well as all my worries. The second part will contain everything that thrills me and everything that puts a big grin on my face.
I hope that this article will help newer members answer some of their questions and I would love to read something from seasoned veterans who might have had similar concerns as I do today. Thank you all for taking the time to read all this and your responses.
Alright...enough of the small talk...let's roll!
PART 1: What is not going rightPatience
If you read some of my earlier work ( I make it sound like some professor or something but I really mean articles), you might have noticed that I had problems with patience. Recently, even though I recognized my problem, I think this issue has magnified itself. I feel like I did tremendous amount of work on my site but none of it is really taking me anywhere. In November, I published an article where I was so proud to have made my first two dollars with Adsense. Today, two months later, that amount has risen to eight dollars. Hardly a fortune and that's ok. More serious side of things is that Amazon has given me 180 days to make a sale or I get to "pack my virtual bags". Amazon will kick wanna be millionaires off their program if they can't make a sale. I think I have less than sixty days left in which to drum up some business. I published my first article on my site in April 2018. Since that time I published 26 additional articles, earned eight bucks and some instability with Amazon. It clearly has something to do with SEO as none of my recent articles are even ranking with google...
I feel like I am doing something wrong...like I am missing some sort of piece that is kinda important.... On top of that, I get the sense that everyone else taking these classes starts wearing Armani suits, Rollex watches and driving Rolls Royces after level one. This is, of course, somewhat unnerving since no one wants to be the "special" kid in the class...you know...the one in the corner, eating crayons...
Life
For whatever reason, there are these "outside influences" that keep poking in my direction and keep eating away at my time dedicated to my work here at WA. Employer, creditors, snowfalls that need to be shoveled and other things around the house that need to be taken care of, shopping, cleaning, inlaws, outlaws as well as parking and speeding tickets that need to be paid... The other day I got a flat tire! Can you believe that...? That's hours that I'll never get back! All of these distractions sometimes keep me from being able to dedicate the time to WA that WA deserves and that is annoying.
PART 2: What is going rightThe website
It looks amazing. I am so happy and proud! I think that it has infinite potential and it can change people's lives. Not much to add to that...
What I do
My niche is Disaster Preparedness. I started this niche simply because I got tired of getting "caught with my pants down" during various catastrophes which took place throughout my life such as becoming a political refugee, war and the death of my first wife to name a few. But what is happening here at WA is something I didn't count on. The research I do for my niche is fascinating. I am discovering a whole new world. I read more than ever before and I am starving to absorb more information about what is taking place on our planet and how the world really works. I have even considered going to back to school...perhaps study Military and Strategic Studies or Military History. Since I began with WA I have also thought about writing a book... I am not really sure where this is going to take me but I am thrilled! It has been a while since I've been able to say that I love what I do!
Support
Everyone here at WA has been a tremendous help. Every time I read someones article about how they conquered some obstacle or created something new, it gets my blood pumping. Questions get answered fast and I never feel like having to do this alone. The flood of support on Google+ alone is more than I can keep track of and my email inbox is bursting with messages from WA every day...
My beautiful new wife Lucie, has also been an amazing support and I don't think this project would go very far without her. The minute this operation generates enough dollars to take her someplace where there is no snow shoveling...ever...we are off!
My Self
I am stunned how WA teaches me about myself. Sometimes I find myself worried about publishing stuff that might draw haters. Sometimes I am asked to do stuff in the lessons that I might find uncomfortable to do. And all of this illustrates to me somethings about myself. Limiting beliefs and limits that I set in my mind. And those are the things that I need to work on to better myself and to make it...
I have also discovered that if there is something wrong like lack of sales or articles not indexing it is not the fault of the system, it is me. The system works. The proof of that is the many people who have worked it and became successful. And since in this equation there are only two parts (WA and me) it is quite obvious which part is the malfunctioning one. I am not trying to put myself down. I am simply identifying the difference between people who say "This stuff doesn't work" vs "How do I make this work?" And since I am the problem, all I have to do is make some changes in me rather than trying to change WA. ...seems easier too...
CONCLUSIONAfter actively working on my website for ten months, I can honestly say that joining WA is life changing. I am a firm believer that our lives are about happiness. A big part of happiness comes from inner bliss which comes from doing what one loves. You know that feeling where you completely lose track of time and you snap out of whatever it is you were doing six months later, with a beard down to your crotch and one hundred pounds lighter...but of course you don't care cause you just created something amazing...? Can you imagine how little time for nonsense like war would there be if everyone lived like that? So that is the real value that WA provides...happiness...and that is what can change the world.
So I think we should all be quite proud and grateful for being part of this operation. I am especially thankful for all of you good people here at WA who have helped me, pushed me, nudged me and directed me. I would also like to appologize from the bottom of my heart for not always responding to everyone's follows and likes and thumbs ups. I am having serious troubles keeping up with it all.
By the way...when I began writing this post I was sure that part one would be significantly longer than part two...what I take from this is that things are never as bad as they seem...

Hi Dennis, thank you for sharing your journey!
Yes, we need a lot of patience to achieve our dreams!
Do not worry about other's opinion. It's your point of view, nothing to be afraid of. Everyone is unique and special. It's the same as, something I like, you may not like. Vice Versa.
Keep up your good work and I believe you can achieve great success!
Do take care, Dennis! :o)
Thank you for your wise words. I agree completely. Keep your eyes on the prize...! Nothing else matters.
You are most welcome and thank you for your compliment too, Dennis! Have a great weekend! :o)
Hi Dennis,
Looking forward to reading part three, the learning here in WA is so very subtle. Every aspect helps us to move along our respective paths.
It can seem at times we are not making progress when in fact we are making huge progress.
Stopping every now and then for some reflection can be really empowering.
Best wishes for a creative and successful year.
Alex
Very well said and beautifully written. I agree Wealthy Affiliate is life changing in so many ways. One of the biggest ways for myself right now like you pointed out. WA not only is teaching us how to build something life changing but we are also learning about ourself and changing who we are. WA does change our mindset to one that is freeing and successful instead of limiting. This community and platform is truely amazing in soo many ways.
