Is it a good thing to re-submit your post to Google Webmaster Tools "Fetch as Google" after receiving a lengthy comment thread of 4 or 500 words?

Or should you just leave

Loes has given yu a good link.

I would let the spiders do their job.

how to submit ? I have no idea....

I know this question pertains to something outside of the WA training but I figured I would give it a try anyhow.

I upgraded to windows 10 yesterday and now I can't get

I was told many years ago by someone I know who works at Microsoft, NEVER upgrade to the latest version of Windows until it has been available for at least a year. Microsoft always releases new versions of Windows with problems both known and unknown. They do this because there is no better tester than the public.

Ever since he told me that, I never upgrade to the latest version of Windows until I either get a new computer or my current older version stops working.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but plenty of people have had problems. You're better off cleaning your hard drive with Darik's Boot And Nuke and reload your windows 7/8. There is no hurry to download Windows 10, you've got until June/July 2016. Load it when all the bugs are fixed :)

Wow! I'll wait...

Thanks Sharon,

That's what I thought I was going to have to do. Right now I'm working with my iPad, at least I have that but I'm missing the comfort of sitting at my desk with all of the tools I'm used to, including my mouse.

I just have to find the time.
I hope to have it all done buy Wednesday!

I hope you sort it out, let us know how. :)

I was reading the comments below and really felt some clarification was needed. The "nofollow" link attribute is purely a recommendation to search engines that they not consider the link in rating the target site.

As an example, if one has links to WealthyAffiliate and is using "nofollow" then search engines (at their option) would not use that link in their algorithms to improve WealthyAffiliate's ranking.

To answer the questions directly:

"If I cloak my Affiliate link and make it No-follow will I still receive credit when someone clicks on it?"

The attribute has zero impact on the cookies or other methods used to track affiliate sales. One's affiliate sales do NOT decrease by using "nofollow" links.

"If I Cloak the link and make it No-follow will Google still recognize it as an Affiliate link?"

There are two aspects to this question. First is a link on one of your pages. Google should honor the "nofollow".

Note that Google assumes that "nofollow" links are in general "paid" links but should not follow the link. From Wikipedia, "Google began suggesting the use of nofollow also as a machine-readable disclosure for paid links, so that these links do not get credit "

The second aspect is someone trying to use Google ads and use a link cloaker to get directly to the destination site. Google will follow cloaked link to the destination site and may not display the ad depending upon if their are other ads targeting the same site. Google and others definitely do like multiple ads on the same page to the same destination.

Check out my article http://bloggersrefuge.com/5-best-seo-tips/ about hiding links etc.

I use PrettyLink Lite (plugin) to shorten my affiliate links and I still receive credit for them - you have to check the box 'Parameter Forwarding Enabled'. I have no idea if Google sees them as affiliate links or not. They just look nicer for my readers. ~Marion

Thank You Marion... Nice to see you again and I hope that all is going well for you.
We are both about 8 months in at this point. I am still Flabbergasted by the amount of training and knowledge I've received and how far I have come in such a short time.

I still struggle with spelling and grammar issues but I'm improving
slowly.

Ive gone over the first half of the Affiliate Boot-camp a few times and been working on creating a foundation. I'm receiving an average of 2000 hits per month on my website from different sources

I'm now moving into the second half of Boot-camp and much of it is familiar to me as I have been running PPC campaigns for years with my Pest Control Business. With Kyles training added to my knowledge of PPC I'm expecting good results.

Anyway there is always more to learn and we need to keep pushing
forward.

Thanks for all of your help along the way!

Try Pretty Link. It will hide the obvious affiliate links from google I think. Glyn

I have set up Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Webmaster Tools for 3 three websites. They both seem to be working great and delivering a ton of data.

The one thing missing

I added my Google Site map from SEO and then did the test and it said I had an error, still not sure what that is about. Of course Google already has me indexed for 65 URL's. Will think on it.
Kim :))

Thanks Kim,
I got it figured out. Went through Kyles training video that Carla posted below and it worked great. I needed to DL a plugin to get it done. Once I had the right plugin downloaded and activated it was easy as pie.
Wayne

That's great Wayne. :)

I had this problem, too. Go to dashboard, then XML sitemap under All in one SEO. You will see where you can update your sitemap, go ahead and click that. Wait, then you can click view site. At the top on that page in the search area, you will see http://name of your site.whatever/sitemap.xml. Copy & paste that to Google Webmaster where they ask for sitemap url. Let me know if you need further help. Good luck!

Hi, just finished Jay's troubleshooting video, and went about creatings and posting a sitemap. Followed your instructions above to the letter and submitted to google my site map. Then did crawl to see if it shows up. Google says pending, followed by error 404 msg. Can you translate that to regular English so I know I didn't do something wrong or mess up my SEO in WA Dashboard? Thank you.

Well, Martin. I'm not sure about the error message, but the pending part is normal. You should check back every day to see if it is approved. Let me know!

Thanks...I was kind of hoping for that answer. My to do list for Sunday is huge. LOL!! Have a great rest of the weekend.
Peace!

Marty

OK Carla!

You've done it again!
Mission Complete!
I did say that I would be indebted for life, didn't I?
Well I guess I'm indebted to you for life then.

Thank you so much!
And you didn't even have to explain anything. All it took was steering me in the right direction.
You are truly a God sent and I promise not to hammer you with questions at every turn.

The Book Of Carla! LOL

Much Love!

Wayne

Wow, Wayne. . . . stop gushing already! LOL All I did was search it out in the top search box. Actually, I remembered doing the lessons so was pretty sure I'd find them for you. Good Luck!

Thanks for this! It was very useful. I was watching another training done by Jay and it was not as clear as Kyle's.

Even though this is from a year ago, you are coming in so clutch right now! Thanks for the info.

The SEO plugin will modify your webpage sitemap to exclude pages that you don't want indexed. You still need to upload your sitemap to google and bing webmaster tools.

In google WM, you need to expand to crawl menu and click on sitemaps. The sitemap location is usually yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml

In bing WM, you will find sitemaps under the configure my site menu.

Have you looked in the Google+ communities yet Wayne. Jon

Is outsourcing article writing a good idea or bad idea? I want to outsource some of my content writing but I'm afraid of getting spun content in return.

Has anyone had a g

I would say definitely no, you need to be in control of your content and site. If you do outsource, it needs to be inspected and rewritten because it should always have your personality stamped on it.

Hi Sharon! -

I agree totally! :)

Hi Wayne! -

The short answer 'NO'!

My reason for saying that I talk about in this post:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/davyrobot/blog/invisible-influence

Totally agree with your post, but it does depend on how many websites you have to maintain. I outsource all the time and then rewrite its a cheap source of research Outsourcing smart is a different thing from outsourcing per se

Hi Catherine! -

It's a case of 'each to their own' - I am in control of anything that appears on my Website - because I believe it should reflect me!

I am in control totally, but I have not always got the time to do the research so it's outsourced. That does not mean in any way that the content is not written by me, just because you outsource something does not mean it has to be used as is.

Hi Catherine! -

Surely it's much easier just to write from scatch - as I say 'each to their own'! :)

Depends how many you have to write I have over a hundred and fifty websites I cant research them all

Why would you need so many websites!?

Thank you all! This was a great help. :-)

It is a learning process,And you are getting it.Ken

LOL... So are you. and anyone else that is serous about this.

This is a never ending learning process because it's forever changing. Just trying to keep my mistakes down to a minimum.

By the way Ken, I think your websites are very nicely put together and all have great layouts to them.

Thanks Wayne for the feedback.I am still working my mistakes to correct my process.Ken

I think Wayne, that you get what you pay for. Why not keep it in house,
we have many very fine writers here in WA. I'll bet if you ask nicely, ;-)
Someone will make the time for it & have the proper resources to do a fine job. I'm just saying... Jon

Actually that is a good idea, we used to have a for hire section here years ago and I often written pages for other people

There ya go Wayne, help in 3 minutes. Shoot that's faster than Superman. LOL ( yes, pun intended)

I Love It!

LOL not now my days of writing for other people are over, but if you want help write a blog post is anyone willing to help me....

https://www.textbroker.com check and guarantee the content is not plagiarized. You can always double checkit yourself in copyscape.com. I have tried all of the options out there odesk, rentacoder, elance etc and keep coming back to textbrokers.
I have published as a writer for other people over 10.000 unique articles in many niches and writing is a skill that gets easier with practice

Thank you Kat,
This is exactly what I was looking for.

I have also been wondering how to check content for duplication to make sure my site is never in jeopardy of publishing duplicate content.

Copyscape is a bonus!

The WA community never fails!

Thanks Again!

Wayne

Polishing your writing skills here at WA is a good practice and challenge.
Blog and share more often and sooner or later you weill definitely improve.
Wish u d best in your journey. . . .

If you feel the need, ask your prospective writer for writing samples. I'm a writer and I'm ALWAYS being asked for samples in a particular subject so they know how I write. I have over 1,600 unique articles out there in 9 topics with more as a guest blogger. Writers should NOT have a problem with providing samples so you can check them out. Good Luck!

Thanks Carla,

I might just come calling. :-)

Not advertising. Just giving you something to work with when hiring writers.

Do you think you aren't able to write content?

All of my content is original, I am having trouble with time to write.
http://workfromhometeaching.com/

For 5 dollars on fiver ... it's worth a shot. Not that I care much for the content writing ... but you can gain some ideas on new angles or new info on the subject if you're feeling blocked. So for that reason only I say it's worth a shot .... for 5 dollars.

Fiverr is where I went the first time and had a bad experience.

I am looking for a reputable article writer that someone has used and had a good experience with.

I know that some people outsource their content, and I don't think it's a bad idea. It's not easy to find a good writer though.

They all claim to be the best and not to use article spinners but the proof is in the pudding.

I totally agree with you , I also had a bad experience with Fiverr for my logo.
I could have done this by myself! Maybe I didn't loose alot of money , but I lost the trust , which is worse than to loose money!
