Is There An Agenda To Do Damage?

Of recent, there has been so much negativity here that I have had to ask myself if there is an agenda to do damage.

Let's be clear, I'm saying that there are a few here causing mischief.

As a Christian, when I suddenly see so much negativity where there was something good I begin to question what is really afoot.

Think how many of us would have gotten as far as we did without the many encouraging and success posts from other members? So who stands to lose if we lose the spirit of helpfulness and camaraderie that usually permeates this platform?

Who will lose when we delete all those success posts. Who loses when we no longer offer comments?

So I have a few suggestions.

How about we do a few things differently. While we wait for the promised changes, here is what we can do:

How about ensuring that you have the email address of at least one member, someone you trust to work on your behalf to ensure your privileges are reinstated. Additionally, we may also follow Kyle and Carson on Facebook or Instagram so that we will still have a means of communicating with them.

Also, remember what Simone (Newme202) said she did when she was blocked she logged out and contacted the Admin through the Contact Us form. So Let's remember to do that.

If I know someone is being irrational in their expectation and wish for me to just write comments on their site that reflect their point of view and reject my comments on those grounds I'd be sure not to comment on their site in the future because my time is precious.

The truth is controversial comments can be quite good for a site. Controversial comments can actually foster more conversation, grow traffic, and benefit our site in a big way. So ignore those who don't understand that comments do not have to reflect their own opinions. Forge on to work with those who welcome your work on their behalf even when it may be controversial.

Just this morning I felt attacked by a nasty feedback, first I laughed, read that again, and got mad. Then I said thank you and moved on.

It's the first negative feedback I've ever gotten.

Don't get me wrong I've had people tell me about things that were wrong before. Improvements that had to be made.

There is a difference between negative and constructive. I know and respect the difference.

Firstly I haven't asked for feedback in months, certainly not since I re-branded my site.

Secondly, there are a hundred ways that a person could have said the same thing and not come across as trying to be crass. However, I know a few things he may not.

I know that regardless of what you do in this life there will be some who don't like it. Somebody won't like yellow and another won't like green. That's OK. That's what makes us individuals.

It's why I also don't expect to sell to everyone. My business and every blog I write represents my individuality and those who like it are saying they like that piece of my heart. The flip side for those who don't. That's OK.

It's better to build our own vision because we are the ones living with the consequences. Besides, if we dance to someone else's tune we will never find true satisfaction. Expect to lose some and win some but soldier on.

Let's not allow the negative energy to permeate this platform. How about we find new ways to deal with these persons looking to cause havoc here. Turn the tide. Bring something positive.

Let's reclaim WA and recreate that atmosphere of camaraderie. Let's refuse to part take in the destructive behavior and rise above it.

WAFamily, if you can think of anything that we can do as members of this team to protect the integrity of this community please be sure to leave a comment below, and let's change the tide.

We all have something to bring to the table.

Thank you so much for writing this post Candy. I felt really sad when I was reading some articles this morning.

It looks to me we have more than multiple issues. One of them is blogging here, the other one is the comment section.

I know people are frustrated with what’s going on in the world. I come here in the morning to start my busy day in a positive way.

Let’s all pitch in and make this platform positive again. Let’s be a bit more generous with each other and if there is a blog we don’t like just don’t read it.

I want WA back the way it was with all kinds of blogs on all kinds of topics and if someone writes about a juice which is a picker upper and gives us energy during our working day that’s great.

    Let’s do this together.

    Ahhh Jeannette,

Well said. I want that too. I love WA and I'll certainly be one helping to make it the wonderful place I enjoyed coming to not so long ago.

We can do it together. I agree with you if we don't like the tone of a post let's move on. I've definitely decided to get behind that suggestion.

Hi Candy. Thank you for tackling this subject constructively. We need to protect one another and what we have.

So I support your suggestion that we should each have at least contact details of one person we can trust.

I can't imagine what it must be like not be able to communicate with anyone when you really need help.

    Hi, you are welcome.

I can also imagine but we all have the ability to change it so lets do that.

I hope you have your buddy picked out.

Great point Candy. We do need to stay focused on encouraging others, that to me is the great benefit of this site.
At the same time, we need to overlook those who seek to do damage. I don't think there is an agenda behind this but just that some feel it necessary to tear down instead of building up.
You are on the right track, keep up the good work.
    Blessings
    Ray

Thank you, Ray. Much positive energy from here on out.

    Hi Candy,

This is what I would consider a perfect and timely post. You have hit on some key components here.

"Who will lose when we delete all those success posts. Who loses when we no longer offer comments"

Recently I have seen members leaving the comment forum and going into the Live Chat. No credits offered there from what I have seen so far.

What was once a source of help, reading about someone's success and accomplishments, and even about certain issues a person may be going on in their life has become controversial.

I find it so hard to believe that someone would disrespect someone else with nasty feedback. What purpose does this serve.

Yes someone will not like yellow, well that is really too bad for them! To tell you green is better, I tell them to get a life. We all have different opinions on different subjects, but to attack or try to ban this person is totally unacceptable.

There was a mention about bots doing this, I think not. These are people of low self-esteem that try to put someone down to feel better about themselves, and in some cases think they will earn credits. Shame on you.

Having a backup friend(s) on Facebook or other social media is a good idea. Recently a member contacted me on Facebook not understanding why they got a write ban. I am glad to say that person is back with us. Kyle is on my Facebook page and does respond.

Please keep posting and commenting within the WA rules. Do not let the opinions of the few outweigh the rights of the many to comment and post within WA forum. We are all adults here.

Thank you for the share Candy.

    All the best,

    Michael

    Thank you Michael. Well said.

    Candy Benn

I don't think anyone could have said it any better Michael!

    Thank you Simone.

I learn and grow through honest, constructive criticism. It might hurt my pride a bit, but ultimately it will move me forward. You are right there are many ways to offer a suggestion being helpful and not negative. Thanks for this thought provoking post.

    You are welcome.

    Have a great day.
