I read this AWESOME book everyone needs to read.

This book took me by surprise, written by Elizabeth Kostova. I still feel the reality and her ability to take this amazing story about a young woman's family secrets to a new level that is so captivating. The author's abilities to incorporate real historical places and timelines to unravel this young woman's known comforts of her family. The depictions the author gave on all the historical timelines and facts made the story tantalizing. The authenticity used by the author of fear felt through her writing still keeps me up at nights wondering if the history behind the story could be based on truths.

This story was about a family that kept secret of their bloodline all told through found letters told through the main character a sheltered young woman's adventure into finding about her mother that her father refused to talk about with her. The young woman ends up finding some letters that her father and his professor wrote years previously never thinking they would be discovered, her father being a diplomat never thought his daughter would find these dark disturbing accounts which happened while he was young and still finishing school himself. The experience this young woman needed to go through to find out why she was never told about the truth as to prevent her exposure to evil. The sinister evil events described gave me the feeling of chills especially her usage of true historical facts for this young woman as a guide. I would tell anyone if they want to read something that gives you that feeling of fear, mystery, romance, and real history embedded in this amazing story "The Historian" will electrify all your emotions and you will sleep with the lights on again.
