Why it Pays to Educate Yourself
Have you ever struggled to use a tool that you have some knowledge of, only to find out that some is far from enough?
That describes the relationship between AWeber and me.
When I first set up my autoresponder series, I thought I was doing fine. I knew the basics of how to create a message, set a delay, and so on.
But somewhere between email three and email five, my (not so) perfectly planned sequence turned into a tangled mess.
Messages went out in the wrong order, some didn’t go at all, and I couldn’t figure out why. You know that vague sense of "you don't know what the heck you're doing" that lurks when you decide to wing it? Yeah - I had that.
Two days later, and by “two days” I mean hours of reading help articles, watching tutorials, and experimenting until my brain was ready to tap out, I finally got it.
I deleted an entire series and started from scratch, learned about list segmentation, automation rules, tagging, and the differences between “draft” and “scheduled” that had tripped me up.
The best part? Once the pieces clicked into place, the whole system made sense. I went from frustrated to fascinated. Now my autoresponder is humming along, ready to deliver value to my audience exactly the way I intended.
If there’s one takeaway from this little victory, it’s this: don’t just dabble with the tools that power your business, master them. The time you invest in learning them inside and out will pay you back in smoother operations, better results, and a lot less stress and frustration.
Take advantage of all the training you can handle.

It's a great feeling when things click into place Dave. I love your phrase "from frustrated to fascinated".

Thanks so much, Myra. Taking on new tools can be very frustrating. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that.
Hi Dave!
Count it as lesson learned the hard way. Indeed, it is important to educate yourself because it will pay you dividend. Now that you learned it, you know. Very inspiring!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Have a productive week! Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards.

Hey, Nichola.
Yes, I tend to make affiliate marketing harder than it should be. It's all in the attitude, I guess.
Monday is here. Off we go again.
All the best to you.
