I've recently added adsense to my site and there is now a banner at the top of every article. I would really appreciate your opinion on whether you think these are too intrusive

I would put the ad further down the page and put the picture of you welcoming people to your site at the top, great looking site.

Thanks man, good thought :) Hope everything's well with you and that you're coping with things ok.

I use Adsense. I wouldn't put the ads where you have them. That's the spot you might want an "above the fold" pic. I notice you don't use pics or graphics. I have a top Adsense ad, but it's in a horizontal banner across the very top of the article. I also have one way down on the right-hand sidebar and another banner across the bottom. I don't like anything that interferes with reading. My preference. You can see the ads on this post: http://realmoneynoscams.com/what-is-seo-content-writing-and-why-do-you-need-it/

Ok, interesting... Will have a think about what the best thing to do is and do some experimenting. Thanks very much for taking the time to feedback!

Hi Dave
First, I think your site is great.

On the ads, I see they are only on the articles and not on the main pages. I think they are ok where they are but it is a compromise. I like the response from TheHammer - you need to weigh up the click for the advert vs getting a sale or similar in your site. You don't want them to leave too early.

If you choose to have them where they are, I would justify your right margins for the paragraph so it gives a clear eye line to differentiate the advert from your content.

Just my thoughts.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks very much for taking the time to leave feedback. I need to have a think about what my approach is going to be as well as do a bit of experimentation. Interesting thought about justifying the margins as well... Hmm will have a think!

Thanks again.

Hey Dave... Your site is look good bro! Well done!

My opinion on the ads. Personally I wouldn't put there where you have them. I would rather have a picture there that you can also link to Pinterest and then have the ad at the bottom of the page. My reasoning for this is that I want to get the reader engaged in my article as soon as possible. I don't want them to be distracted or click away too soon. Once at the end of the value I gave (my article) then I will put the ads there. You could even put one near the end of the article as well and see how that works?

Play around with it and see which location works before you and gets the best results over all.

Hey man, thanks for the feedback.

You make some really good points. I think I'll try some different options when I'm getting a bit more traffic and see what works best. I can definitely see how an ad at the beginning of an article might disengage a reader... Hmm I need to have a think!

Thanks again.

You are very welcome :)

I think it looks great... didn't seem intrusive at all... not sure if you changed something but as of 2:17am Easter time it looks Great!!!!

Thanks Yesi! :)

I don't see banners at the top, just a small one on the lower right. Did you change the position? At any rate, the one I saw was totally unintrusive. I like your site, it's very clean and easy to navigate.

Thanks :)

Hello, Dave. In my opinion, the more the merrier. I see they are different and if someone doesn't like what they see on one post, maybe they will like something on another one. As far as placement, I think they look fine. Nice site, too. good luck to you! Peggy

Thanks Peggy!

Hi Dave! -

There is no - difference!

It is the same thing! :)

Mine is also in the process of being indexed. The number of URLs versus # indexed is different. Every day it seems as though more URLs are being indexed into Google. I think it just takes time. I've also read on here somewhere that you can do the "Fetch as Google" and it will allow you to manually index each page that isn't already. Heard that is faster than letting Google do it automatically.... I personally don't have the time to sit here and do that so I'm letting Google do it :)

Site looks great. I don't know if posts get indexed. Maybe pages only? I'm sure someone will be able to help you out here.

What is the difference between crawled and indexed urls?
