Amazon Web Services v Wealthy Affiilate
This Wealthy Affiliate Community Blog Post, is going to explain the difference between
Amazon Web Services and... Wealthy Affiliate
Now you may wonder why?
It is a good question. So as you know I returned to the platform, a day or so ago
That was covered in this post here in case you didn't read it
One of the main reasons I did I'll cover here.
In February this year I reached a landmark Birthday, to me it was just another Birthday!
But in doing so, I thought about where I had reached, where my life was and what I would like to do going forward
Several options went through my head, including what would I really like to do if I was given the chance
That answer was easy, being I am semi retired, I have always wanted to earn money from Football, Football you see is my one big passion in life
and for my very considerable sins, I also happen to co own a Football Team, some older members might know this, but I co own a team in the English Football League Division 2
"AFC Wimbledon"
It is a labour of love more than anything else, but we are the greatest story in English Football
So did I want to build a website around that?
Writing is another passion of mine, I absolutely love writing and blogging specifically
So would that be another idea
But, before either of these could happen, I would need a website.
I looked at various hosting companies, including Amazon Web Services and decided that building a website with Amazon would be the best way forward, after all
Pinterest and Canva to name but two websites that the community here are well aware of also use Amazon Web Services to build and host their sites on
So I looked at the potential costings for doing this & ...
Surprisingly, believe it or not, absolutely no where within anything Amazon has does it give any costings. Everything is pay as you go, quite literally
I asked an Amazon Web Services Guy, during a 1 2 1 phone call with him, how much it would cost me to get as much as Wealthy Affiliate would offer... His Answer?
I have absolutely no idea, but he did give me links to various parts of Amazons Web Services Programme so I could work it out for myself.... This was termed Support!!!
So with rough costings in my head from what I wanted and knowing that Amazons Servers, which is what WA is built upon, I totalled up my costs and found that I was going to be paying a lot lot more with Amazon Web Services Directly, than I was with Wealthy Affiliate
Which gave me a clear winner in my head and no this not a hyped post, but a pragmatic, post
Wealthy Affiliate is the absolute best hosting bar none, with the most educational, cutting edge content you will find online anywhere, together with an awesome affiliate programme, which when applied and promoted as i intend to, will make a significant income and effectively you have the best 'work' online you can get
So, you can feel proud to be associated with WA and know that as far as website building goes, that WA will have your back far more than Amazon Web Services Will.

Sounds like you are living the dream, Dave. One of my gripes with these mega-platforms is that they are so hard to navigate, they are not user-friendly, and many are so secret squirrel that it can take hours to do simple tasks.
For ease of use and technical edge, WA ticks many boxes; the caveat we get out of it what we are prepared to invest.
Not entirely sure I'm living the dream more a case of you get to a point when you know what you like and like what you know
AWS has a great offering it's just not transparent enough whereas WA is and that's what mattered most.
So now I can focus on promoting WA and building up my trading business which is going great, has done for a good while now and thankfully not in the crypto space.
But at least my plan is in place and equally it's good to see you again too. Trust you are well and succeeding
