Keyword research

I would like to poll for some advice from the community on Keyword research to make sure my thought process is on the right track.

When doing the research for keywords, I should be looking for the phrases or words that receive high monthly search ratings and traffic with a 300 or below QSR?

If this is the correct way of thinking, then could a person build a website using this criteria to create good rankings with in the search engines? Basically having a website/domain name that ranks in the upper 200's then having subcategories for this niche that proceed lower as far as the QSR ranking is concerned?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Hello, Dave.

That is correct! My advice is to aim for as close to "0" as possible when it comes to the QSR for increased chances of higher ranking.

The same criteria can apply to domain names with blogs, but it will take a lot of work on your blog to gain Google's trust and receive a page 1 ranking with your domain name.

I suppose sub categories could work too, but have never tried it with my own categories.

Hope this has been of some help.

Hi Dave a good question, you are on the right track but I think you need to look a little further with your ideas..!
but good work.
Here is a link that might but a little more clarity into your thoughts, see what you think? Keep with your good work.

Dave, I think you have the right idea.I was just going over some of Kyle's training. I believe he said that he doesn't worry about having a key word in the URL.But in page titles and key phrases it is good.

The content being natural and easy to read is also important.

I'm trying to get a handle on this too,so i'll be looking for some more comments.

Are you using Jaaxy or the WA keyword tool? I use Jaaxy and I usually go for QSR OF 200 or under. I would rather get high ranking keywords as my websites are still quite new. Once my website trust is higher and I am getting traffic I will try for keywords with a higher QSR :)

I just finished up creating the free account in Jaaxy and watched Kyle's training videos within Jaaxy.
