Headline - clickbait vs keyword?
The other day I was looking for a headline for my new next post. I found two headlines, that both were good in each their way.
The first one was a total clickbait headline. What i mean by this, is that if i posted this article on Facebook, a lot of people would take a look because it looks interesting.
I'm sure you have seen headlines like ''Want to be a millionaire? Do these 3 things''
I really like headlines like this. However, i had a really hard time coming up with good keywords to fit in the headline.
The second one was an amazing keyword. This headline would be ranked very good on google in a very short time after posting it. However, i wasn't able to find a good clickbait headline with this keyword. Not many people would click my article, if i used a headline with this keyword.
What i'm asking here is, what is most important when picking a headline?
Should the headline be a total clickbait, so that every person who sees it clicks on it?
Or should it be a good keyword, so that a lot of people will see it on google?
Ofcourse, if i can find a headline that has both things, that's what i'm going to do.
I was just wondering what is most important.
I see a lot of huge sites focusing on clickbait articles. They get all their visitors from facebook, but they get a lot of clicks because of their nice headlines. However, they aren't really getting any traffic from google.
I would really like to make my facebook's fan base big, and then get all my visitors from facebook. So maybe the clickbait headlines is best for me. However, i'm very new here, so i really have no idea.
What do you guys think? Would you choose a clickbait headline or a good keyword?

If you feel FB is your future then go for it.
I personally would never click on such a headline because it does not sound serious to me. I guess nobody will tell you a true secret of becoming a millionaire, I am sure (s)he would first try to become millionaire himself/herself. But I have nothing at FB so cannot judge it from your perspective.
You say that some huge sites get all visitors from FB, how do you know that? On the other hand, it does not matter form where the traffic comes. Ask Marith, she has literally hundreds of thousands of followers on FB, I am sure this implies huge traffic, so who would care about Google.
I definitely feel FB is my future. I'm gonna stick to that.
Thank you for taking the time to help.

I often change the headline to suit the social media platform - so you can make a Facebook headline and then have a link to your article. I also have article headings that never ranked well in Google but were designed for social media followers, so long as you know what you are targeting and why.
Ideally you should be aiming for best of both worlds.
Thank you so much for the help. It's highly appreciated.
I think i will focus on the social media thing more.
