Hi all,

Hi Dani-El,

I don't have an answer to your question. ;-)

But I do know that often times "one things leads to another" so to speak and although you may start out in the Singapore niche initially, it may lead you to maybe another niche, or to a sub-niche in the Singapore niche.

So start building your Singapore website and be open to whatever else may come your way. Ask your website visitors to give you feedback and maybe you will find that they may ask you questions about tourist places to visit, rather than about immigrating, then you know you need to shift your focus.

Or if your visitors may start asking you more about places to stay... then bring that in as another page on your website - or a total new website... whatever you decide. This will obviously be easy to monetize and I imagine people who go to Singapore will need advice on buying or renting... talk to a (reputable) estate agent and directly negotiate a referral rate if you can't find an affiliate program. Guidance about different areas, schools, shops etc, would also be handy info that new immigrant may need - if you can't find an eBook about that type of info - maybe you can write something yourself. ;-)

But starting your website, will initially give you a starting point, and as you start building it, you will get more and more ideas of how to monetize it and what information your visitors need, and how you can monetize for that.

Hope this helps! ;-)

PS: And eat more ice cream - that may also help to get the ideas flowing. ;-) LOL! Okay, maybe not. But that is our excuse for eating ice cream and we stick to it! ;-) LOL!

I agree with Neilc, if you need to do your math start backward with how much you would like to earn per year. Then do the math from that. In this way, you will have the idea of what your time is worth.

1. How much time do you want to work each week?
2. How much do you want to earn per week?

You may like to set a short goal around 6 months and a longer around 18 months or what you think is the correct timeframe for you.

If you like x amount of money per year and work x hours per week. You need to divide the yearly total by the total hours. then you got your hourly rate.

Now you will have an idea of where you should spend your time and what you should outsource. Like writing articles, setting up and tweaking your site etc.

Strategy equals a plan to reach a goal.

I wouldn't really worry too much about the mathematics and timing, etc. As long as you have an audience to write for, you can help folks and earn an income.

I would say it's best to know your exact niche before you start building your business, otherwise, you have no direction.

If you think your Singapore niche is too small, you could try expanding it to Malaysia for a bigger audience. Just an idea.

As for the monetization part, you could try searching Google for affiliate programs related to your niche. But you could also display Google Adwords ads and earn from visitor clicks. Google Adwords is covered in one of the lessons somewhere.

Also check out Commission Junction, ShareASale, and Rakuten affiliate programs because you might find some inspiration for your niche.

Hope this helps a little. Neil
