I WANT IT NOW ! - Don't Be Fooled !
I know I have thought I WANT IT NOW, a time or two (as recently as a month ago. Well, okay, you caught me. . . It was today!!), perhaps I've spoken the words (definately not today), I've heard them spoken, and I've seen them exhibited in behavior, like a small child throwing a tantrum because they couldn't have something RIGHT NOW !! Have you had these experiences? If so, it isn't hard to imagine when you look at the world around us and see a culture rife with advertising that pushes A Me Me Me and instant gratification agenda.
Lessons abound that teach us this is not the road to travel as you see the seemingly unending advertisements promising something for nothing. For instance the too numerous to count diet pills and such claiming you can lose 100 pounds in a few hours, with no work (okay, a slight exaggeration, but you get the picture). Or, the email offers claiming you can make $7-8k in a couple of hours with just 2,3 clicks. I get inundated with these daily, basically offers of getting something for nothing when it is actually the reverse. . . You give something and you get nothing.
I was actually checking on a couple of these "scams" thru some reviewers,(thank you Eddy with a "y"), when I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliates. I read a couple of other reviews and then after reading all positive reviews decided to give it a try. After all, wasn't it free?
Well, to my amazement . . . It turned out to be better than free. I finally found a place where the authors/sellers were actually putting out what they promised they would. Everywhere I looked, I read that this was not a get rich quick method. That there would be work involved. It isn't, and there is definately work involved. Here is what I have found:
1) A group of people who are enriched by the success of others. 2) A wealth of knowledge unlike anything I have come across before (including what I paid handsomely for in obtaining a Bachelor's Degree at a traditional University). 3) A constant learning and teaching to "take your time and you will get there". 4) And then some . . . .
I have also reaffirmed in my own mind exactly why I always tear up when watching Olympic athletes, whether they win or not, and watch the stories of what they went thru, the endless hours/days/months/years of training to get to that point. It is the story of the dedication, perseverance, and willingness to do what it takes to achieve the goals they set out to accomplish. All hard work. And even though you don't always get to see the times they wanted to give up, or the days when they wished I WANT IT NOW !!, there is no denying the amount of satisfaction they feel when they have finally reached their goals.
I will avoid the I WANT IT NOW syndrome because I know with the help of everyone here, eventually I will be feeling that same sense of satisfaction. Sorry this became kind of winded, but it is from the heart, as are my thanks to those of you whose support has been such a huge value to me. This is only the 2nd time I've written on here and I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback as it relates to helping me become a better writer, a better friend, and a better all-around person. Thank You.
Dan

Yeah vent on Dan that was great.
When you finally find a WA you can't believe it, where is the scam it must be here we are in bewilderment when it's real. I'm glad we both found it.
Thanks for the blog....
Thanks Mark. I am also glad, to put it mildly. I look forward to watching you grow, achieve your goals whatever they may be, and reaping the rewards once you reach them. I also know that you will continue to set new goals to reach for. Good luck and my best to you.

Hey Dan
Many of us here have "suffered" from shiny object syndrome before finding the calming waters of WA.
Because there is so much BS out there, it's kind of hard to believe that WA is exactly as it is.
After all, we are constantly told that if something appears to be too good to be true, it's because it's not true, right?
Wrong!
In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, WA is almost too good to be true because it damn well is true.
Glad to have you on board, good luck
Mark
Thanks for the comments Mark, and the re-affirmation about WA. I am glad for myself, and hope that many others do not give up because of all the scam-artists out there. Just like many things in life, you have to dig thru the weeds in order to find the beautiful flower amongst them. My best to you

You write from the heart, thereby I enjoy reading your blogs, you don't try to make them something they are not, so I can relate to them. Usually I see a 'piece' this long and I turn off, but you had me immediately with 'Well, okay, you caught me. . . It was today', as that is how I think and try to write. I would say (and I'm by no means a professional) just keep doing what you are doing, and hopefully in time it will all fall into place for us all!! Good luck ,Hayley
Thanks, Hayley, for taking the time. I knew it was "lengthy" and i know that is something I need to work on, being concise and getting a message across quicker. Thanks again for the comments and I hope everything falls into place for you as well.

Hey that is cool. You write well and the post is very interesting and motivational.
It does take dedication to pursue, but I feel like as we build more and more of what we are creating and keeping at it, that for every action there is a reaction. I feel as tho' any of us can have this success.
One of the greatest things that gives me hope, (just getting my sites up now) is the use of keywords and particularly, how many derivations there are which are under-utilized or not utilized at all. This is our "in".
Kids generally get stuff that is not lasting anyway . . . candy . .. toys they tire of so I am happy to be an adult, act like an adult and as you not adopt the I WANT IT NOW attitude.
Thanks!
thanks for the comments. I appreciate immensely and you point out something good in that kids generally do get stuff that is not long lasting and your commenting on that brings up many ideas for me. Thank you.
We are all guilty of I WANT IT NOW at some point. WA is a great platform to learn from especially that you get nothing for nothing and have to be prepared to put some work into your project.
This is very true and the work will both be fun and worthwhile as you know you are working to attain/create your own rewards and accomplishments. Thank you for the comments. Best to you.

Dan awesome blog and soooo true! The best part is realizing that the best things are earned through hard and smart work but every tiny little baby step equals progress towards the goals that you are trying to achieve!
yes, you are right. It's hard sometimes when the baby steps are soooooo slooooooow., but then one just has to look around and find that all successes are borne out of the small steps along the way. Thanks for your comments. My best to you.

Thank you Dan. Always wishing you the best!
