9 months in!
I know I've been pretty much absent for the last few months but I haven't given up. In fact, I'm still working on my blog, still posting (though not quite as often as I'd like :D) and even getting sales.
Here are my stats for the October 2016:
- 581 sessions, 509 user, 777 page views, bounce rate 82.27%
- 32 published posts total
- 53 comments total
- Amazon earnings so far: ~ $3
- Other affiliate earnings: ~$27
My first ever sale was through Amazon in July.
As you can see, the earnings are not much but let me tell you, affiliate marketing really does work! It's definitely a long run but in the end it's worth it. I've ran a couple of giveaways which boosted my visibility (on Facebook as well) and I've had sponsorship offers as well. All that in only 9 months of my website being live.
It does work! :)

Well done for getting those commissions and continuing to work on your blog.
Looking at your stats, I think one thing to focus on is the "bounce rate" - 8 out of 10 visitors leave the blog without clicking through to another page... If you can get them to stay longer (by posting relevant and valuable content that encourages them to click through) you may start to see an improvement in your earnings and rankings.
All the best,
David Hurley
Hi David,
thanks for your comment! The actual bounce rate might be skewed a bit because I ran a giveaway that month. :) I'm not worried that much about the bounce rate.
