Be Your Own Cheerleader!

We live in a world where instant gratification is the desired outcome for all efforts expended. I am very guilty of this, as I often think I should instantly see the results of what I deem hard work right away.

What is even more important to us, is that people recognize the hard work which we have put in; and if we do not get this compliment we feel we deserve from others, in some instances, our efforts are seen as wasted.

Some self reflection led me to think that the key to self actualization or attaining success, must be based on our own standards and our own definition of what success means. The truth is that no one but you truly understands the good and bad circumstances which you have met or overcome to carry out your daily duties; therefore, no one can really measure the level of success achieve when those tasks have been successfully completed. We must feel confident in our abilities and celebrate the minor as well as major successes in our own way.

Treat yourself to a glass of wine, to dinner and a movie, to an expensive pair of shoes, or whatever your heart desires! Your success is yours, you have sacrificed for it, you have had sleepless nights and you have paid your dues. Get your 'pom poms' and cheer on!
