You're an aspiring entrepreneur and a brick & mortar store just isn't for you. So you set up a website and have some really great information posted. Now all you need is to get the word out to the world that you have what they need. How do you even begin driving traffic to your website?

Ask yourself, how do I dram them in? The new shopping destination is towards digital online marketing.

You can spend lots of money listening to and watching videos of people that have come up with clever ways to suck your credit card dry. They have all the quick-rich answers to get your site noticed. The money will pour in. You will earn thousands of dollars while you sleep. Sorry, this isn't how it works in the real world.

So just how do you get that much-needed traffic? How do you get notices over the literally millions of others that want to be notice and on the top of the information heap?

To get on top of that pile you need to implement some tried and true methods that the big guys use. First you need to gain the trust of Google and that doesn't happen overnight.

Then you need to know the fundamentals behind search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, and email marketing.

You can drive traffic to your site for free with SEO, social media and email marketing, or you can pay for it with advertising. But that can add up quickly.

According to an article I read, it recommends that you download Google Analytics to your site. This way you can track traffic to your site. But if you aren't generating sales from you site, all that traffic is worthless. "If you're not tracking the traffic that's coming to your website, you're wasting your time marketing online. When you drive traffic to any site, blog or wherever, you need to understand where it's coming from so you can scale your efforts" (forbes.com/sites/robertadams/2017/04/10/23/proven-ways-to-drive-traffic-to-your-website)

Implementing good SEO is important to get noticed. Finding out the terms and words people are using most to search for information like yours is highly important. Jaaxy is an efficient way to find top keywords to plug into your postings.

Offer quality content in your posts. If your content is top notch, people (readers) will want to return. Keep them engaged and make your information shareable. If they find it good, they will want to recommend it to their friends.

Make sure you allow and invite your visitors to ask questions and leave comments regarding your content. Then you need to make sure you answer and comment on those comments in a hasty manner.. This way you humanize yourself, and your visitors feel that you care about them and their opinions.

Back to sharing - not only should you make your post shareable, you need to be sharing your postings on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. You can more friends of friends or followers of followers when they share your information.

Another one is to set up a sign-up space on your website. A place where readers can sign up to receive newsletter, specials notices, and what-not through email. You can even send them a quick note to let them know you have new content added to your website. But don't spam them with a bunch ridiculous garbage several times a day. This will drive them in the opposite direction.

Keep your site up-to-date. The best way to keep traffic coming to your site is to keep it current. If you don't add new materials often, you will give visitors the impression you don't really care about what happens on there, so why should they? If they are seeing that you are still talking about Christmas and it's now Valentines Day, it's way past time to get caught up.

These are just a few insightful ways to get traffic started to your website. You can't just set one up and then let it sit there and collect dust. It takes hard work, determination and a little TLC. If you seriously want to make money, stick with it. You might even try reaching out to others in your niche and engage in a positive manner with them on their social sites, or comment on their posts. In return, they will mostly be curious about what types of information you are sharing in the world wide web. Thus increasing your following. Win - Win!!
