What Does That Stand For? And What Does That Term Mean?
For beginners not only to Wealthy Affiliate (myself included), but also who are learning some basic technology, the abbreviations and phrases associated with technology and marketing affiliate programs online are immense. It can get overwhelming very quickly. As I said, I’m new to Wealthy Affiliate and I must say I feel like The Universe has brought me to the right place.Having set up a website less than a year ago with IPage and Wordpress for my other business venture, I’ve been feeling around in the dark until now; and that’s not the way it should be.
So, I’m pleased to finally say I’m in the right place. One thing Wealthy Affiliate does is offer training that is so vast; one has to find a rhythm and keep your eye on the prize. Remember that and don't get frustrated and don't give up!
Generally speaking, there are so many acronyms, terms, and so on.I often have to stop my research to look up a technical term or acronym so I can get a clearer understanding.
One thing that I want to help other newbies with is some of the technical terminology that many at Wealthy Affiliate already know. However there are some members that are new to all of this including internet learning on the grand scale that Wealthy Affiliate offers.
For example, here are just a few terms that I hope will help others:
SEO – Search engine optimization.
SERP – A Search engine results page.
SE Ranking – The rank/order in which Google and places the traffic visiting your website.
DNS – Domain Name Server. Website address.
TLD – Top Level Domain, i.e., .com, org., .net
ROI – Return on Investment (i. e., when with repurposing content, the SEO value of ROI gained by revamping content is worth it in terms of profits and gains).
KQI - Keyword Quality Indicator. It will indicate a color to let you know the strength of keywords you have used. My WA colleague clued me in to this by private messaging him. He responded asap and is such a support. I'm following him and many others who are great supports!
Web Host – A business which stores and makes all your website content available over the Internet; loads your website. You must have a web host to have an operating website.
My purpose here is to provide a one-stop-shop of sorts, to some beginner terms that will help you understand terms better as a time-management tool; along with the above noted acronyms; that will help you move through training and learning that I have found helpful.
None of us here are afraid of dedicated, hard work. So let’s address Search Engines (SE); where you'll spend a lot of time with researching. There are tons of search engines that can be used to gather information over the Internet. A very small list of routine search engines I found I’ve listed below in order of personal preference of user-friendliness, speed, page loading, and other technical issues that might cause concern are:
1.Mozilla Firefox
2.Bing
3. Dogpile
4.Internet Explorer
One thing we are aware of is our time – without adding stressors unnecessarily. We as entrepreneurs are focused and scheduled.
EXTRA TIPS ARE VERY MUCH SHARED & APPRECIATED such as:
When researching, the following are very useful and helpful as well:
When I found the following site through web searching that is helpful for anyone seeking more technical knowledge I was so pleased. Go to http://techterms.com. Let me know if the highlighted link below is not working properly.
I'm still getting used to how this particular blog works with links and embedding them. (You can also highlight the blue text below then click control+click. You will see the new tab "The Tech Terms Computer...).
Find technology terms for newbies and others through this link.
I hope this will help terms and sights are helpful for newbies and anyone else considering time management and business who want and need to learn more about terms, etc.
There is a wealth of knowledge at Wealthy Affiliate.Let me know how you’re progressing, I will do the same!
Best of luck and more blogs to come. Thank you for reading my blog.
Peace and blessings,

Hi Cece, great post. Thanks. I am adding you to my follow list. If I can be of assistance give me a shout. Wishing you all the best. ~Gaylon
If you want to remember this blog and come back to it at a later date you can bookmark it. Go up to the search bar. You'll see a blank star to the left of the black airplane. Click it. This will add it to your bookmarked/saved pages. You can then easily find it later
Absolutely you can save your pages. I did that for a number of my pages when I hadn't quite decided on the content for each of them. By creating blank pages it starts to give you an idea of how your website will flow. You can then log in to Wordpress and edit each page once you've got your content figured out.
Hope this helps!
