How Consistent Are You In Your Business?
DON'T SPREAD YOURSELF TO THIN
When I started out I thought I had to be active on all social media sites, so I was posting daily and engaging with people.
I started getting discouraged because I was not getting the following and likes I expected.
I was posting consistently and engaging all day long.
Although I quickly realized I was spreading myself to thin and not actually engaging with followers on those platforms.
I was doing more busy work. I will talk more about that down below.
So I picked two to start with. Instagram and Facebook.
The other platforms like Twitter or Pinterest I like to just go into share mode.
Sharing quotes, tips, my videos and blog posts.
This way those platforms still build in the background but I'm not focused on it.
WHY IS CONSISTENCY IMPORTANT
Now its important to be consistent but you don't want to be consistently doing busy work.
Personally I've found just liking random things and scrolling through the news feed never really works.
So when I'm on Facebook or Instagram now its on a timer. This way I send some messages, and build my following with people who are interested in what I do.
I don't message or talk to everyone, because not everyone is going to be interested in what I offer. And the same will be for you.
Especially in the beginning when you don't have any videos or blog posts ranked or people messaging you say they want to join.
Remember you don't want to sell your opportunity in the first message.
You want to ask questions and qualify them.
Think about what you do in your business...
What gets you results
What do you do on a daily basis?
How many hours a day are you working?
What kind of results are you getting?
You have to be honest with yourself. Sometimes it hurts to admit it.
I had to admit to myself that I was doing busy work and not doing things to get sales.
Remember everyone has to start somewhere.
The successful marketers who sign up 10+ people a day worked their butts off to get where they are.
TIPS AND TRICKS TO STAY CONSISTENT
So how to stay consistent, especially when sometimes you just don't have those creative juices flowing.
BATCH YOUR CONTENT.
When you are on a roll and are coming up with good captions or finding great quotes, write them down and save them.
This way you have stuff ready to go.
4 Tools To Help You Batch Content and Stay Consistent
1. You can schedule your Facebook Fan Page posts (you can also schedule FB group posts.
2. Use Buffer. You can schedule out 10 Social Media posts for free.
3. Create social media images in Canva. Create a template and then duplicate it replacing the text or a simple image.
4. You can also use Google Calendar, Trello, Toodledo, or Evernote... There are other options for you to stay organized but I like to use these.
It helps me when I write down my tasks and must dos the night before.
This way I know what I need to do when I wake up and I'm not wasting time thinking of what I need to do.
