How To Make It Work!
I have some pretty exciting news, my friends! I have found a way to make it work.
Let me go back a little to give some insight on what I mean.
I joined WA in March of this year. I was very excited and became a premium member within days. I began watching the training and created my website, mycooldiyhomeprojects.com. I loved it since diy is one of my passions. My other passion, I would soon learn, demanded attention.
I am a school teacher and could hardly wait to get out for summer break in May-as most school teachers are. I wanted to do some yard work, bird watching, and plant some vegetables, which is all included in my other passion-the outdoors in general. And I was excited about working on my website during my summer break. I felt I had hardly given my website the attention in needed while I was working full time. This would give me plenty of time to fit everything in my schedule since I was about to be out of school for the entire summer.
BOY, WAS I WRONG!!!
Before I joined WA, the outdoors and tending to my yard was what I did when I got out for the summer. It's what I LOVE to do. So it was easy to let that side of me take over once again. Each day, I would get up and tell myself "Today, I'm going to work on my website"(as soon as I get finished watering my flowers, or taking a few pictures of my birds (one of these which I have posted as my cover image on this post), or whatever needed doing that morning. But it always seemed to turn into an all day event once I got started!
The truth is, I just wanted to be outside because it's what I love. I didn't want to be sitting in my house in front of my computer. I wanted to be on my front porch, listening to all the sounds of nature which I enjoy so very much. I knew something had to change!! I HAD TO DO SOMETHING!
So......I unplugged my laptop and took it with me to my front porch and I began to type-this post! There was my solution! It was perfect! Why didn't I do this before. I'm pretty old school, but I knew that my computer had a built in battery that would let me take it to the front porch with me to do my work. So this is how I'm going to make it work!
I can sit on my front porch while I work on my website, enjoying all the things I love outdoors without being cooped up in my house. I think it's even going to help me take a break when I am feeling stuck on writing content-like sometimes when the words just won't flow. I can do my work here at WA and take a break to take a stroll through my yard and get refocused.
I know this hardly compares to some of the wonderful success stories I have read on here, but for me it is quite the accomplishment. So for all of my fellow members that have a struggle similar to mine....find a way! Make It Work!
Wishing success to all,
Cris
