Should Ambassadors quit?
I feel sorry when one of our Ambassadors quit.
I saw RaeAnnePond leaving us, now, our dear Heather (freedom1207) wrote a farewell post.
I understand that priorities change and our life path is going in a different direction, but, with so much exposure, an Ambassador should not be allowed to quit.

We have lost a few Ambassadors over the past 6 months, some of whom I enjoyed interacting with. Still, as they pursue different paths, others come along that add another piece to the endless jigsaw puzzle of life.
Duncan, you have more than one year here @ WA, and I'm sure you saw a lot of persons who changed their life paths.
I respect each one decision.
Thank you also for following me.
How's Australia now? Do you miss Thailand?
I was impacted in a great way by Rae Anne and Heather leaving. They are both excellent women with good hearts and minds. They have one life to live and they will live it the best way they know how. I support them in their choices and wish them all the best...
We live in a free society and sad as it is I have known Heather since she joined and I will miss her around WA , we cannot force anyone to stay people leave every day even ambassadors, it would be kind of like saying a employee cannot resign.
Katie, thank you for your opinion.
It's good to live in a free society (I know because I also lived in a dictatorial society) but I wanted to show here the impact of the quitting upon the followers.
If I leave, nobody (or few) will miss me. But if someone like you, or any other Ambassador, with a lot of followers, quit, in my opinion, it's not okay.
You're leading by example.
So others Ambassadors.
The impact on followers is bigger.
I can understand you feeling that way however sometimes circumstance in life changes things for us and I know even before Heather became an ambassador she was struggling with her pathway and considered leaving, members have the choice to follow other members via social media and there are some members who are not ambassadors with bigger networks that leave also, I am sorry you feel upset by this.
People should not be forced to keep doing something they do not want to do, especially if they don't get paid.
Alec, I appreciate a lot your input; also your writings ( left you a comment on your site some months ago and I'm pleased to remember the depth of your analysis, it was about Jaaxy).
That's why there are choices and everyone has that God given right no matter right or wrong. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
People gotta do what they gotta do! While I am spending time here and working on my website, I have marked myself unavailable on a freelance website. And I was actually making money there.
You folks that have made it to ambassador status or close to it are spending a lot of time nurturing other people and not necessarily spending enough time doing your own thing, like gardening or cooking or reading or grooming the dog. It must be exhausting!

She probably did find pleasure in it for a long time. I didn't see her post. But newbies like me are still relying on people like you to help us and we are very grateful for it!
But, if you leave at some time, I won't be mad. I'll be concerned about what it may have been that made you leave. We're all in this together, until some other crap comes up, and that can be pretty much anything that comes along and shoves itself in a person's face.
You never can tell how life will change in the (nearby) future, there can be multiple reasons to go another road. For now, I hope I never have to make that choice.
Being an ambassador is not equal to having success with an online business, it merely says, that you are an active WA member.
Life can inflict so many challenges and opportunities. I have seen a lot of people come, made it into ambassador and leave.
Yes, I understand all of the above, Loes!
But if you will leave us, the whole community will be impoverished (I'm not sure if I have chosen the right word to express what I feel).
I wish you a productive day!
It is sad, but they may need some time out, as I have seen some Ambassadors answering questions and assisting people all hours of the day. Maybe they will be back after a short break!
Sometimes people find another mission in life......who knows we may be next. I was also sad to see one go and I'd only just got to know her. But, as she said you will find me around.

I completely support Rae Anne and Heather in their decision to leave as they have other things which are more pressing in their lives. As Ambassadors, why should we not be allowed to quit? We don't get paid for the position, we don't receive anything different to what any other member does. I'm puzzled by the question to be honest Cristina :)
Jude, each person, is free to do whatever she want.
Maybe my English is not sufficient to explain. I think that the 4000 followers you have till now are an important part of WA community.
You, as a leader and Ambassador, lead by example, and all your decisions are seen by a lot of persons (for example, I have only 700 followers, a lot of them already quit, and I'm not in any top. Who cares about me?
But a lot cares about you! :-)
Have I explained better what I intended to write?
Hey Cristina, I know what you mean about leading by example, but sometimes we have no alternative but to follow the path we have to follow. I would be very sad if something happened which would make me leave now, but I would hope that the people who follow me would know enough about me to know that I was making the right decision for me and my family :)
I would totally understand your decisions as I understand the Heather's and RaeAnne's choices.
Thank you for commenting!
Maybe it should be that Ambassadors should not make a big deal about leaving. Maybe they should just leave quietly.
Marcus, this is your best so far. You are making progress. I agree with what you said above (or is it below?).
This ranking should simply be abolished (am I using correct English word?). I published a post about it in my site. WA owners are good in human psychology.
Thanks, Jovo.
I don't know whether WA ranking needs to be abolished completely. Maybe it just needs to be modified. It is nonsense that someone can achieve Ambassador status in just a few months from being really active on here. There needs to be some other factor involved, and it people should not be able to become an ambassador until they have been here for at least a year, or unless they have upgraded to Yearly.
This would pretty much remove this problem of someone coming on here, being super active for a few months, then suddenly leaving.
The most active on here are not necessarily the most successful or the best people to look up to. But the current Amabssador system makes it seem like that. It's a broken system.
It is broken system, easy to agree about it.
Maybe this is a broken system as you say but Going up in ranking means a lot of time invested in WA community. I am disappointed by your comment. I understand what you mean by this and I do not agree with you. Why people are able to climb the rank so rapidly? Is there even a purpose fot this question? They work hard to do this. I personnaly invest a lot of time in WA and I see the rank change as a sigh on appreciation. What is wrong with this picture?
I agree with Diab :)
Diana, I assume this question is for Marcus? But to explain my words above, I received your reply in my email: we are here to try to start an online business and not to be ranked at WA. Most successful people here are not 'appreciated' by community because you do not even know them, they mind their businesses. That is the idea of coming here. WA is a business company, not a chat club.
I do not expect that you agree. You have your opinion, I have mine. We are good?
Haha, we have an interesting relationship, don't we, Jovo?
Half the time we agree (for example on this issue), half the time we disagree.
I suppose it keeps things interesting...
As you see, Jovo, I apply what you have written in your posts because I follow you since...but that's not important.
You have a post Even questions asked at Wealthy Affiliate rank in Google! and I realized why is important to write having a purpose in mind (other than chatting).
Also, the following helped me a lot: Zero competition keyword or is it so, and image SEO in practice Thank you!
Diab, the issue is that it is possible to climb the rankings quickly just by being active, not necessarily useful or helpful.
Please don't take this as a personal attack on you. I'm not questioning how hard you yourself have worked. I don't know you well, so I cannot make that judgement.
But why is it that some of WA's top earners are nowhere near Ambassaor level? Take Colton, for example. He earned $10,000 in December, yet he's not even in the top 200 for WA rank.
Also, please don't view being on WA as work. This will hinder your success.
Correct Marcus.
I do agree with you please read my blog and you will see what WA has to gain from being active contributor.
Hi Cristina, I am grateful for pointing these blogs of mine. You participated there and this is appreciated.
We are having a nice discussion here; opposite opinions perhaps but I believe at an appropriate level, in a civilized manner.
You do not know, but I am right now in a fierce discussion with Marcus within some other blog. That is why he mentioned our 'relationship'; we are in a partial agreement here, but in a total disagreement there, about some other issue, still very relevant to this discussion here, about WA in general terms, scam issue etc.
But I think I shall have to stop here. Nobody offended, hard feeling?
Marcus, I am not upset just puzzled. I would love to see the top successful WA members, ambassadors and actively helping WA community. Why is this not the case?
Jovo, I admire you and Marcus as well.
Even if I don't comment on your or his posts, I learn all I can.
If someone has an open mind, can learn a lot. Reading different points of view is beneficial.
I don't have any hard feeling!
No hard feelings.
DIAB, the reason this is not the case is because the more time someone spends here interacting with WA members, the less time they spend on their own websites, so the less success they have. The very reason why the successful people are successful is because they are working on their websites more than they are socialising in WA.
I have even seen it when some members realise this for themselves. Mark1957 is one example. He rose to the top of the rankings very quickly. Then one day he realised his priorities were wrong. He'd got a high WA rank, but it didn't really mean anything because he wasn't earning any money from his website. He's a lot quieter now, probably because he's focusing on his website more.
I think it's all about balance. It's good to be part of what's going on here, but it should be a relatively small part of your day compared to working on your website. Well, that depends how new you are. When you are new, you are busy going through the training on here. But once you have finished the training, you probably shouldn't spend more than about 10% of your working time on here. That's an arbitrary percentage I just pulled out of my head, but you get the general idea, right?
Being on WA isn't actually work. Once you've done the training, being on WA is socialising with other internet marketers, which is important. But you still need to work on your websites to actually get anywhere.
I completely understand and I do feel the same. I had bad previous experience at work as I believe you know. Contributing to WA community is part of my therapy because what mobbing does to anyone is killing their inner self. Or I am a goal driven person, I always loved people and I always enjoyed helping others. Mobbing made me feel useless. So this is my story. Not a nice one but I am finding myself by helping others. Achieving high ranking makes me feel worthwhile.
Okay, fair enough, DIAB.
