I Got a Tattoo .
Ha! Ha! Made you look!
So Saturday night my daughter, Diana and her boyfriend, Jason invited my husband and I out for an evening of entertainment. We started at an early movie and then went to dinner at the Tilted Kilt. We started with a nice glass of wine and some appetizers ... and some great conversation.
After little more wine, some good food and getting to know Jason a little better ... he asked me about my website. I was filling him in on what my vision was ... you know ... get people to figure out what they really want ... what their life dreams are ... and encourage them to really just GO FOR IT! All of a sudden, my daughter says, "There's something I always wanted to do!" Naively, I said ..."then just do it!" So she grabbed her smart phone ... pushed a few buttons ... and said, "They're open until midnight!"
What? Who? ... What are you talking about? She just grabbed me by the hand and said, "Let's go! Before I change my mind." Well ... we finished our drinks, Jason paid the tab, and we were out of there.
Once in the car, Diana said to head south west on State street and look for Valley Produce ... our destination was just next door. Still clueless, I drove to Valley Produce and lo and behold, what was next door? A tattoo parlor!
She wanted to get a small diamond in her nose! Well ... let's just say that our inhibitions were maybe let down just a little ... we stopped out side - the four of us to take a selfie in front of the neon lights screaming tattoo - and then went on inside.
While I contemplated ... briefly ... getting just a tiny little tattoo ... somewhere where the sun don't shine ... she JUST DID IT! With tears in here eyes (it hurt just a little more than she thought) she said ... "Thanks Mama ... I always wanted to do it!"
This was my face:
I'm not sure that a nose piercing was the outcome I expected ... but she is 35 ... and she just did something she always wanted to do ... but had held back for some reason! I had to be proud of her.
Meanwhile ... another friend texted and wanted us to come on down to the Brass Rail where they were celebrating a birthday ... so we went.
It was a Karaoke Bar ... and the place was hopping! There were all kinds of people ... talented and otherwise ... just singing their hearts out and having a great time. They were fulfilling some kind of dream of entertaining, or performing. (I did't sing ... not one of my dreams ... lol) but I sure did appreciate all those people ... not one bit afraid to just GO FOR IT!
Life Lesson ... if you have a dream ... just slap down those fears ... climb over whatever is holding you back ... and just GO FOR IT!
Come Sunday morning? Very tired ... but no regrets! M

After I lost my first husband I inew life was too short! So when I got connected again with someone...at first I was hesitant but knew life is too short...so after two years of dating we got married! Glad we did it! In August he had a heart attack but he survived it. Again life is too short! Melody sounds like you had a great time! That's all that's important that we enjoy every step we take!
Great story. I remember when I was in my mid forties, I decided to get a tattoo of a cougar on my calf. I decided I wanted it and said the same words. "Just Go 4 It". Never been sorry. Of course now it is kind a fading a bit. So I just may go in and have it redone ha..ha
Refresh and renew! That's the spirit ... it will keep you motivated to just keep on keeping on! M
I haven't been on in a while but I recently lost someone very close to me and thought I should respond to this one. Life is short and we should just go for it sometimes. Fear is not living. So take some chances and do the things you love. I also think that what is on the other side that's waiting for us is something awesome and wonderful.
P.S. I did get that tattoo and I have never regretted it.
I also got the nose piercing. That one didn't work out so well for me...
but I did it and didn't regret that either.
You're right about that life lesson. SOOOOOO, I think we should get tattoos (just little ones).
If we have enough wine ... while we are visiting Atlantic City ... we may just have to do it ... together! M
I think you're ON!!!! I only like henna on my ankles because I can't commit to something that will be that visible. SO, I'm thinking where there are no tan lines......
