After the hard work, thorough research and paid for the domain name under Go Daddy, finally, my website , Looking, Feeling Younger.com was launched few days ago. However, this evening, there is a website that was not on the google index before and now showing as lookingfeelingyounger.com & copyrighted. What could be my recourse to this?

See below,. Is this acceptable and legit? I am feeling frustrated and unhappy!

Thanks and looking forward to your ideas as to why? Any suggestion, solution?

I don't know if this is illegal or not, but I do understand your trepidation. Having two different links in one URL doesn't seem right to me, it looks more like a back door type of advertising or spamming. If it were me I would contact hosting phalanx and ask them to stop using it and see what their response is. Maybe they'll offer you money or at least explain why they believe they can get away with it.

I am glad that members like you will find the time to connect and comfort a WA newbie like me. Your comment was also my first impression but most suggested it was a sub-domain and no longer exists. Now I am at ease and once again, I appreciate your time. All the best and more power to you, Uncleyeti.

Just wanted to comment as what a facinating post, you have had some top replies below :)

Good morning and thank you so much for taking the time dropping me a line. Yes, our members have been so helpful and now feeling at ease. BTW, my dog, Pogi looks like your border collie when he was younger, but now a senior--going to be 9 years old and the spoiled brat of my family:) All the best!

Hi Coney,

I checked from the Whois and believed you have registered this domain http://lookingfeelingyounger.com with GoDaddy on 07-Sep-2015 under Concepcion A. Mercado with the contact coney@merbsventures.com at Vancouver, Canada. You didn't protect your details with their private registration service.

Based on the history, this domain was previously been registered by someone in year 2007 and dropped. That's why it was available for your purchase. Every domain is unique and controlled by icann and shouldn't have 2 registrants at the same time.

The other link you given is more like a sub-directory. My opinion, it could be the previous owner of this domain built another site (like what we did with the sub-domain using ourwebsitename.siterubix.com) previously and didn't delete it. If you link to the domain as they stated as their copyrights, the traffic all go to your current nice created website with the green background.

Here the link on your domain details:
http://whois.domaintools.com/lookingfeelingyounger.com

Hope the above helps.

Jan, good morning and thank you so much for your efforts researching and giving me solid information. I felt relieved and feeling at ease, receiving the assistance and suggestions from our members like you. What I cannot understand is...why the website is still alive??? Or I am just getting paranold:) Ops...

You've got the dot com and that's what matters. Even though they are claiming copyright going back to 2010 you own the domain name not them. It just shows how ignorant they are that they're using ".com" on a subdomain. Worst case scenario you'll get extra traffic as people will remember the dot com name not the subdomain. :) ~Marion

Super thanks, Marion for the kind words. I am now feeling at ease, since I have been receiving the support and replies from members like you. It shows how we care each other like a small family....soo happy!

Hi Coney,
It can be alarming, but looking at their url, I'm not too certain, but it looks like their site is a subdirectory as it doesn't stand alone. What's your website url. Your sites may seem similar in name only I think, cause when you chose the name at godaddy, they wouldn't have allowed you to choose the name had it been taken. I may need to be corrected, but I read on the differences between having your onw website domain and residing on a web directory of another name, kind of like our siterubix sites.
I'm sure someone with a more knowledge than me will be able to help you sort this out.
Blessings!
Dan

Good morning and thank you, Dan for connecting. I am now at ease because of the warm responses I got. You are correct of your assessment as others also implied. Much appreciated!

So sorry to hear about the hijacking of your site ConeyM. I hope you can straighten this out very soon.
Marilyn

Thanks for your concerns, Yenomyn. It is nice to hear from our members and glad I belong to this pro-active community.

Both domains are different. You can use your domain on your own and add your own site to it. Nobody will stop you or sue you for copyright !!!

Thanks for the kind words. I finally can go to sleep soundly. I appreciate your feedback.

No problem, just a sidenote. You know popular sites like facebook twitter just add something like facebookfriends or twittertweets etc and see that they are completely different sites. Domain names can be different as much as the tlds too. So younger[dot]com and younger[dot]in are different.
