Making Animated Pinterest Pins With Canva
I woke up motivated to show all interested in how easy and fun it is to make animated pins over at CANVA for Pinterest.
I want to provide for you step by step instructions.
Using CanvaCanva is fabulous! I have been a paying member for over two years, but what I am about to show you, you need not be a member. To clarify, a Premium Member has many more choices, but again, there is so much you can utilize for free, so please keep that in mind.
Animated Pin Steps
- on the home page, press create a design and choose Pinterest Pin
- next, choose a template
- highlight everything you would like to erase off the template (text and photo)- choose to delete image and not delete grid
- now you are left with an empty pin
- choose a photo from either your own (upload) or by what is provided
- my favorite step! (choose a filter that best fits the photo)
- pick an appropriate font, color and size for your text
- play around on where best to place the text
- now is the time to click on animate and choose which one works best for you ( I love Zoom)
- click on File in upper left corner and name your file, for example (Plants-at-Beach) dashes between the words
- click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and choose download (it may take a while)
Animated Pins on Pinterest
Now is the time to head over to Pinterest.
- press on create and choose 'create pin'
- add a description and hashtags (to make things easier, I have a page on Google Docs which has all of my hashtags saved for each subject)
- finally add the destination link
More Helpful Advice
I hope that I was helpful to you all! I wanted to share a few more tips to raise the amount of views you receive on Pinterst.
As I stated up above, I have been doing Pinterest Pins quite frequently the last few months and I have noticed that animated pins are being shown with much more frequency compared to non animated pins.
I have been averaging between 2000 to 3000 views per pin, and that is just when I first post them! It has also been noted that others like to save animated pins compared to non animated.
Also, I highly suggest that you use your own photos! Use your camera! I have not had a camera in over 3 years and have been taking all of my photos with my phone. Have fun and play around with your angles. Try to take pictures of object at a close range. By doing this you will highlight the subject and distort the background, which leaves the perfect space to add your text.
Being Rewarded by Pinterest
Now I am not very sure about this, but I have 4 pins (none are animated) that have been up for over a two years now and almost every week someone is saving them as well as visiting my website. I feel as if these pins are stuck at the top of several boards and I am elated.
I recall reading a lesson here and one of the members stated that frequency is key when using Pinterest. After I am done with a post, I put up at least 25 pins. But if I have a really juicy post, like the one I just finished, the sky is the limit. In fact, just in the last 5 days I have done over 100 pins. And guess what? On Febuary 28, I have 750 visits to my website! That is huge for me, as I have only been averaging about 120/day.
Parting Words
I need to state in closing that my Pinterst Pins only connect to my website and I am not trying to sell anything. My main goal is to get traffic, and though the process is extremely slow, I have been increasing my traffic.
I hope this was clear and concise, and if you have any questions, please fell free to DM me or leave a comment down below.
