Where in the H have you been Z?
Hello Friends! I've missed y'all!
First and foremost, I hope each and every one of you had a pleasant and safe holiday season. I know most people enjoy that time of year, but as for myself, it's not my thing. I loath the holidays and I cannot exactly pinpoint what it is about the whole thing that makes me shut down, yet every year from thanksgiving until the rumble of new years has settled... I may as well not exist.
SO!!
Thank (insert whomever you worship here (Jesus, Jehovah, Allah, Satan, Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius, The Aliens or whomever Scientology is centered around)) Sorry Scientologists, I respect you as much as everyone else, I just simply have no knowledge of your religion.
Screw it! Thank them all that the season is over!!!
Oh frabjous day! A new year and I am about as far away from the next holiday season is possible. All should be wonderful.. Right?
Should be, yes.
Well, I was just diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's not something that a person GETS, which means that I have always had this. You might be thinking, "Well then nothing has changed".
To that I say, yes and no. Nothing HAS changed and yet it changes EVERYTHING! It explains a hell of a lot and is certainly a lot to process.
Imagine going through your entire life thinking that everyone around you has a problem, simply flabbergasted by the number of people that seem to be idiots in your eyes. Then you wake up one day and find out that your entire life, YOU have been the one that has been different from everyone else. They are not idiots, you are not an idiot, but you view the world completely different than everyone else.
I'm still wrapping my head around all of this a bit, so I won't ramble on about it too much.
ANYWAYS! Happy 2016 to everyone! I'm glad to be back and I'm looking forward to pushing my limits and breaking through to new heights with my online ventures this year. As always, I'm very much looking forward to lending a helping hand to as many of my WA friends as possible!
I can't wait to get back in the swing of things here.
Hope you all make the best of 2016!

Nice to see you back and my son is the same when it comes to the festive season, my youngest daughter has mild spectrum of autism she does well just certain things is harder for her, such as change, too much going on and I can say something and she takes it as something completely different however having said that she did well at school and college and apart from being quite quiet no one really notices.. Here's to a great year ahead
Thanks Katie. I suppose that's the thing about a spectrum of any sort, anything on a spectrum is different from something elsewhere on the same spectrum. I definitely tend to take things more literally than they are always intended to be and change is no friend of mine! haha
Hi there Cole. Thanks for showing up again. I wish you all the best for the coming year!
Stefan
Happy New Year to you as well Cole!
I wish you the best! I don't know how this new discovery is impacting you. I hope overall that it is nothing that brings you down I any way and I doubt it will.
As for the holidays I usually love them but I hate what they have become. They are supposed to be a time to slow down and enjoy time with family and friends but now it has been perverted into one big shopping fest and you have a feeling of rush rush rush! It's like we have to do the holidays the way TV tells us we have to or we are just no good. So I love them and hate them at the same time.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I know you will overcome anything that gets in your way!
I agree with you, the holiday concept is nice but the reality of them just isn't what it should be! Thank you so much, best wishes to you!
Welcome back! Wishing you great success for 2016. On a sidenote, there is another member on here with ASD. I am sure there are probably others, but I only know of the one.
You know it Paul! haha!!
How's the sound equipment site doing for you so far? It looks wonderful!
You will break through, then they won't be limits will they. Happy & successful 2016 to you & yours. Cheers Jill

Hey Cole! So nothing has changed, but you do have a new perspective. How can you use this to your advantage? You are still you. Maybe this knowledge will give you power and insight. Study it but don't overwhelm yourself. Just Be yourself and don't worry about labels or what others think. You are here aren't you. We are too.
Thanks a lot, I am definitely trying to take that approach. Using any information I can to my advantage while not getting overwhelmed.
Just take a deep breath now and then and remember that you are among friends. Look in the mirror and smile and feel the joy in your life.
I definitely do find comfort in knowing I am amongst friends here. I appreciate your support very much :^)
