Many people want to make their website rank high of course.
First you have to make it clear. When you post a new page or post, you have to compete with tons of websites to get to the first page.
Besides, you have to make the impression convert to traffic of your website.
So, to make Google and people think your website is new and updated, you have to do something like below.
- Add the year in your title (i.e. How to make money in 2016)
- Also add some upcoming festival or special holiday too (i.e. What to buy for 2016 Valentines' Day)
That's it! Nothing special and this makes your title more eye-catching and Google loves updated contents.

Good thinking, I know when I'm looking for information the year published is a big factor. Even if you don't physically rank higher you become easier to spot and are more likely to get click throughs.
I think this is a good idea... the only problem is .. when the year is up .. you have to go back and change all the page and posts titles :)
Actually I dont think this is a problem. You can create a new post for 2017, 2018, 2019 when the time goes on.
You may make similar content and put some more updatest content too.
