Goals, Deadlines & Checklists
Tomorrow marks my second month here. I have learned a lot. I'm pleased with my progress although I haven't published as many web pages as I intended.
The thing that I'm most excited about however is the lessons I learned after a week of being "Missing in Action" due to distractions.
Being semi=retired makes it easy to relax the discipline of working a job. However, Being semi-retired does not exempt me from my 40-year habit of being annoyed with lack of productivity. So I put in place the productivity hacks that worked for me in my career.
1. Goals. These are the accomplishments that I set for myself because I have determined that they would be an authentic expression of who I am.
2. Deadlines. These are "No Excuses", "No Alternative", and "No Matter What" resiults that will happen by a certain date and time.
3. Checklists. These are preplanned action steps that set priorities, determine what's next and eliminate any need for thinking. "Just do it" comes to mind.
Focus is back. Instead of excuses about why I'm not further along, I'm excited about how quickly things have turned around. I have momentum working for me know.
I guarantee my next status report will be more exciting!

I think focus is very important , what is it you want see it believe it and if you really like to do what you are doing and have no negative surroundings you can do it, you really have to see it and want it !!!
DESIRE do you have it ?
Coach I agree, as a retired person, for 2 yrs, if I did not set tasks and schedule accordingly it would be tough to avoid distractions.
Soon you will find the balance. I have set in motion several members to hold each other accountable towards completion of tasks. this has been helpful to me.
