My Progress so far!
It has been more than 2 months since I have joined wealthy affiliate and I would like to share my progress, experience and learning so far.
I became part of WA on 23rd June 2015 finding it as to be the most reliable online affiliate program in my 1 week of research. One thing I liked the most about WA reviews that everyone who has reviewed this program had clearly mentioned that there is no substitute of hardwork and don't assume that you will be a millionaire overnight by just signing up for it. Being an occasional blogger and software engineer, I had an idea what might be required to do.
As for my country, WA is available in premium form only it was a risk of losing the hard earned money but I did not want to miss a chance of learning the secrets of content marketing from best of resources available online even if I don't get anything in return at the end.
It was a nice feeling when after my joining, some very nice people came to welcome me and followed me. It felt like a homely environment which was comforting as well as motivating. WA is one of the rare places where people from every part of world are happy to be helpful and always encourage you.
From first day itself, I started with the course, learning the ways to create a website and writing content. Toughest thing in content marketing is to find your niche. If you find that, you have won more than half of the battle. I have always been interested in 2 things: Mobiles and Movies. Both are very broad to be called a niche but it's tough to narrow them either. So I went ahead with the risk and chose electronic gadgets as my niche.
Second tough thing is to chose a suitable domain name. After much thinking, I bought a domain in 12$ but the very next day I did not like it at all so again I bought a domain with same amount and decided to go ahead with it. The main issue with names are that once you select it, you start to think that it could be better but you have to stick to something ultimately. So I stuck to topgadgetsforu.com .
It took me one month to make this site live as per my liking with one post. As selecting a suitable theme for a gadgets website is a big challenge too especially if you are looking for a free one. After going through 8-10 themes, I finalized areview theme and made my website live.
After that adding suitable plugins, enabling SEO, configuring Google webmaster as I saw in a WA training, writing pages and posts all took a big time.
Now after more than 2 months, I have managed to add only 8 posts and completed course 2. More because of my 8-10 hours office work and less because of my desire. I have registered for Jaaxy PRO account as well but have not been able to monetize my website or attract some big traffic. Sometimes I think about quitting all this and live same life which I have been living till now but that will mean all the 2 months efforts going into drain.
This feeling of loss and some internal belief has been stopping me from quitting and hopefully I will prove my belief to be right that I can achieve something more than my 8-10 hours job.
