Last Blog and One Last Call for Help
Anyhow I want to thank everyone for helping me and offering help since I started. I know that everyone is busy so taking the time to help someone who doesn't know what the heck they are doing is just absolutely fabulous. I do plan on sticking around even if you don't hear from me.
One last thing that I need help on that I can't figure out. I am having problems with my Amazon links. I followed the tutorials step by step and no matter what I do, either on the visual or the text screen they don't work. If I try on the visual side, I highlight the phrase that I want to link and input the code from Amazon, when I go check my link it takes me to an error page, something like "this is embarrassing, but what you are looking for is not here" and if I do it on the text side it puts the actual code over the phrase that I want to link. The funniest part is that I have done this before with no problems and the links work! Can anyone help, please!

You do not want to input the code from amazon into the VISUAL link creator, you want to add it to the Text editor (directly) and you can switch via the tab in the editor. This will then only show up when you Publish your content and you view it live on the web. Hope this helps.
I also do wish you all the success going forward and I hope at some point you seriously consider the benefits of Premium for yourself. You will not be losing access to WA completely (training and your websites you can still access), so in the meantime continue down the path from which you have learned.
We do understand that everyone is in a different financial situation, but we also want to offer the paying Premium members more exclusivity within the community here as they have made the commitment to their personal success and education.
Thanks Kyle, I definitely will keep going with what I have available until fall! Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to be!
Hi cmlegui. Sorry to hear this! Hopefully, you'll be back again in the fall...I have kids myself and I definitely can see your point...
Anyways, I was just wondering are you trying to just put in plain text links? No images?
If so, you can go to Amazon Associates-1) click on links and banners, 2) then click "link to any page" and under the section that says "link to any page" (shows "Hint" underneath -to click here), 3) click on where it says "here" and it will open another window so you can search for the page you want to link to and once you find the page you want to link to 4) copy the URL of the page you want 5) paste the URL back in the box on the first page where it says "Enter the URL" 6) then go to the "Name your Link" box and fill in whatever text you want to put as your link on your site. 7) then click "Get HTML" which will send you to another page with the HTML code on it 8) click "highlight" and then copy 9) Go to your site - then go into your HTML code (not visual) and paste it in the spot where you want it on your post. (Since it's sometimes hard to find the exact spot, I often mark it while I'm still in "Visual" I add 3 or 4 letters all in caps such as ZZZZ or whatever letter you want. I then delete them after I find it in the HTML) 10) also remember to click "update" before you leave the edit section of your post and now check how it looks on your site! It should hopefully work!
I hope this helps you out! If you have any questions about this let me know. Best wishes in whatever you do!

Amazing! Thank you so much Sherry for taking the time to give me the instructions step by step!
hi, i don't know if it will help but when you add code or html in visual, make sure you updated the page before clicking by over to text. I don't know why but on some themes, it makes a difference.
I can relate to the monthly fee. I just got laid off from my job of fourteen years. And have a 3 yr. old grandchild living with me. Don't give up.
