When in doubt.

Don't.

Several posts of late have me seriously questioning my role and involvement here.

Yes, I'm here to learn and build a business and I am doing that. But I have also greatly enjoyed the relationships I've developed with a number of members who have become very good friends through my interactions with the blogs and posts.

This isn't my background. I'm a really slow learner when it comes to technology and I'm nowhere near where I wish to be in this arena. So, as I have little to offer by way of experience or expertise, does that mean I have no value here for others? I didn't think so until lately. Posts last week and this morning as well as comments made on my posts have me thinking there's not a place for me here.

How do you reconcile the range of feedback from

'you're one of the best writers here' to 'your posts are a waste of time, I'm here to learn about affiliate marketing'?

If the latter is the case, the only people qualified to be writing on this platform are those who have experienced success and are generating income.

Does that mean that there is no place for the rookie or the person who brings lots to the table, just not directly related to affiliate marketing?

I wrote about this in my post last week - "What is WA really?" It seems the question remains to be answered. To me, WA seems to be so much more than just about affiliate marketing as there is a whole lot that needs to come together for a person to be successful in any kind of business, affiliate marketing or otherwise. Maybe it just needs a bit of clarification for us all. Or maybe some people just need to get over themselves. Maybe a combination of all of it. I don't know.

I know that laws are written on paper. They should be easy to read and understand, but we all know that if we ask four lawyers to explain them, we'll get four interpretations of what they believe and understand that law to say. Who knows, maybe the policies for WA are the same way. But who's interpretation should be followed? Kyle & Carson's.

All I do know is that I no longer feel welcome, safe or of value. And that makes me sad.

My mom always told me 'When in doubt, don't."

So following that advice, here is post #163 within my 8 months of being a part of WA. I"ll be happy to 'talk' to those who wish through PM.

Take care and stay well!

Christine

Christine,

This is very sad to know. I have always enjoyed your post and appreciated the experiences you were sharing with them.

I am sad to learn that someone thinks you're posts are a waste of time. The are definitely not and you do offer value, everyone does, except for the few that like to be critical of someone else's work.
I ran into someone like that last week. There absolutely no place for that hear.

Blogs are supposed to be for sharing different experiences, achievements and passing along some knowledge and how to tips, etc.

I wish you the very best, my friend!

Barbara

Thank you so much for the kind words and support, Barbara.
Yesterday, I was pretty hurt. Today, I'm more in a screw it mood. I'm going to do what I feel best and help to contribute to this amazing community as best I can. I don't have technical expertise, but building a business is so much more than just the 'geek side'. And that, I've got lots of experience in doing. They don't pay my bills, so I don't live for their happiness - yeah, I'm in that kind of mood! I'm choosing to be part of the solution.

Hugs from San Antonio! Stay well, dear friend!

Christine

Christine,
You're very welcome, my friend and greetings from the Jersey Shore, where the weather has been kinda like your mood.

I get you and you have my support. If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask me. I will do my best to help. I'm some what geeky, ok maybe a tiny bit geeky, but there are small problems I might be able to help with and if I can't, there is always site support.

Stay well, my friend. Deep breaths!

Barbara

I was just reading a few posts and blogs, and had purposefully clicked on yours. I do not believe that any post is a waste of time. I agree with Christine's comment below, that we are supposed to be for sharing different experiences, achievements and passing along some knowledge and how to tips, etc.
I have such a long way to go to get mine even up and running, I just beginning and have a hard time at it. Between finding time, and also keeping my energy levels up on a daily basis in order to work, complete school assignments, then begin to dive into this...I have my good days and my bad. It's sometimes the simplest posts that are the most inspirational and a push forward.
I appreciate your work you write here, and hope you continue to write and work on your blog.

To borrow a slightly altered quote from Clint Eastwood's "Gunny Highway" in the movie Heart Break Ridge --for you, Christine!! "Don't Give the Pricks the Satisfaction!"

Please stay and continue to enrich the community as you have. Ignore those who belittle you, maybe they're trying to compensate for deficiencies of their own, are jealous of you, or for whatever reason. Don't give them fodder to continue to try and do this to others!

Whatever your decision, we'll still be blogging here hoping ot see you again!

Be safe, my friend!

Jeff

Well said, Jeffrey!

Christine, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I love your posts and enjoy your friendship as well!
I once heard this little nugget...
"What someone thinks of you is none of your business!" Don't let the views of a very small percentage of WA folks, get you down.

Hi Christine,
It will come as no surprise to you my feelings on all of this.!! I of course read this post on the day it was posted as I have every post since arriving here for the joy of reading them will never cease as far as I am concerned.

I have been chewin', hurting and considering this decision as I know so many who have expressed their same feelings on it to me. I was there when you answered the eedjit about his business opinion and bit my tongue as my first inclination was to tell him he wouldn't even after all his claimed time here know business if it stood up and slapped him in the face.

We have a saying that says 'nowt as queer as folk' queer not in the pejorative but in strange. There will always be those who open mouth without engaging brain and oblivious of their foolish words towards others. Which is why we have to take people as they come.

I know for a fact you know all this. I sent you a comment of a sentient being and her thoughts on the matter to illustrate that your ethical, moral and extremely kind views are shared by many.

Your decision I back with all my heart because I know what thinking process it takes from you to arrive at them. I am at a loss as you will appreciate what it means to me not to see your distinctive writing on all matter of subjects and your unique wise take in them.

Finally I know dear friend that when I make contact with you and you make contact with me it will be as always with open arms.!!

Stay safe and take care very kind hearted and wise one.!! ;)

Christine, I am very new to the WA family, however not new to the world of management and/or motivation and working with different types of people. First I would like to offer that self value comes from within. If you are giving it your all then that is all anyone can ask. What happens when others are insecure about themselves, their ideas or work, they look for opportunities to tear down others as a means of justifying themselves. Their actions are not about you at all but their own lack of confidence, insecurity and the need to elevate themselves. As sales and marketing leader for over 30 years, the one thing I can tell you is that I have always needed novice, inexperienced but hungry people around me. Why? Because they keep me fresh. They challenge my status quo. They have a different perspective, that in all likelihood some of my clients will have. It is what has kept me from becoming stale in my career. Because some have not yet realized your value, don't let them destroy your inner value or confidence to push forward. You will be far better off than them in many ways. I have been so focused on getting my first site going that I haven't had the focus or balance yet to really mingle in the WA community but I hope there are people like you there. Keep the faith and persevere. And whenever in doubt it would be an honor to converse and support each other.
