I'll bet you didn't know!
that somebody has entered each and every one of us
into a game of Jumanji!
Seriously! I will bet that your little corner of the
world is drastically different today than it was at the start of the month, a few short 17 days ago. And, unless you are a serious prepper, you found yourself staring at empty shelves at the grocery store, just like the rest of us. It is truly surreal!
I've joked that I feel like I've awoken in an episode of "The Twilight Zone', or one of the disaster movies. I'm sure that Dennis Quaid or Dwayne Johnson will show up in any moment.
Here we are!
I'm seriously hoping that this new reality - or surreality - is short lived. I don't like seeing my girls and grandson this scared. I don't like my husband not being able to get home.
But where we are is where we are and the only way through is through.
Here is what I know for sure:
- Every rainstorm runs out of rain.
- The sun will come up tomorrow.
- Viruses burn themselves out.
- For those people of faith, God is still in charge.
- We're all in the same boat.
- We'll get through this together!
- A field of Texas Bluebonnets is absolutely beautiful in the sun.
I have food in my pantry and refrigerator.
My girls and Jack are home and ok - albeit a bit freaked out by all of this.
Christopher and Elissa are both safe and celebrating 4 years of marriage today.
Mike is enjoying time with his mom despite the sad reason for him being there.
My mom, sister and the rest of the family are fine.
There is gas in the cars.
The electricity and internet are still running.
We have running water - and a small stash of TP ;-)
We are safe and comfortable in our house.
I still have a cupboard full of board games and jigsaw puzzles.
We'll be fine!!....And so will you!
The best part?
We are here in the wonderful world of WA! What better place and time to weather this storm of - well whatever the heck this is. Uncertainty to say the least.
And what do people do who have a ton of time on their hands?
They go on line!
In chaos, there is opportunity!
I'm not sure if this came from the movie "Kelly's Hero's" (featured Clint Eastwood and Donald Southerland - among a great cast!) or M*A*S*H.
But it's true. We have some pretty amazing people around here in addition to the best platform and resources you could want.If you needed time to work on your site - and who doesn't? - it seems like we've just been given a whole bunch more of it. It's time to put more pieces of your on-line puzzle together.
There are significantly fewer distractions today than there were even yesterday with all of the closings. And I imagine it's the same where you are.
Here ya go! Write and work. Make some progress and headway. Set yourself up for success, not only during this situation, but for afterward.
I promise! There will be an afterward!
But meantime - be well, keep your sense of humor, pack your patience, hug those you love, be kind to your neighbor, thank those who are working tirelessly to try to keep the shelves stocked and to all of the medical personnel who are being pushed to their limits around the world.
Hugs and blessings from San Antonio!

Hi Christine,
Great to hear your positive thoughts, and that your family is coping well.
Just proves, if it needed to be, that online is the way to go!
Cheers
Adrian
Great post! Josh Hartnet or Robert Downey Jr could show up in my movie here ;-)
Glad all is well and your pantry and fridge have lots of food!
Thanks for sharing. Great to hear your family is okay. No one knows what will be next are when it will get better. All I can say is things continue to get worse here in the US. Stay safe.
There are a whole lot of ways this can get worse and you don't even want to go there!!!! Hanging on to the positive stuff and preparing for the possibilities. Thanks for checking in.
