• faces cut out, faces covered, from shoulders down -- people want to insert themselves into style
• Fall trends - watch for vogue that comes out in the summer

-Off season pins-

• pin a few before season starts, for those who are planning. More pins as the season rolls in.
• Christmas pins usually start when you start seeing these items in stores.
• -Should you have pin boards that are outside your niche?-
• Depends on what your niche is -- can you relate it to your brand, then ok -- if wildly different from your niche or blog
• then might want to rethink that board (always can make a secret board)

-Redoing Pins-

• Optimize old pins? No - unless you have good content that does really well, worth it to redo pins.
• Have more than 1 pinnable image for each article.

-Pinning other people's pins-

• Should you redo a description on a pin? If it is relevant to your niche, then perhaps. But don't just keyword stuff the pin description.
• Good descriptions with personal comments are very nice.

-Promoted pins-

• 10 cent a click
• Ad group -- $5/day
• which pins to pick? Look at last years pins/blog posts, which were most popular -- promote same type pins this year
• clear pictures, not pixelated
• Start low -- ignore when warning says too low $.05 & start to see if getting impressions, then go higher to when you start catching impressions.
• targeting -- can do so by location, target by keyword or interest, can target people who've engage with your pins, people who've visited your site, audience similar to your email list
