Instant gratification Just add water

I’m working my way through the Affiliate Bootcamp, and for me it is a hard thing to do. Not the actual task or learning, but going slow enough to do it right. I’ve always been one of those people that just jumps straight to the end result and worry about learning all the little stuff later, sometimes it works sometimes it’s a big crash and burn. Take SCUBA diving for example, out on the river with my brother who is certified, and I decided I wanted to dive so I strapped on his tank and regulator and jumped off the boat. Now granted I was much younger, and dumber, but I figured I’d get the certification later, right then and there I wanted to dive. Lucky for me it worked out and it was a blast, never did get certified though. Anyway, back to the point, that is the struggle for me here, I am going step by step and restraining myself but it is hard. It would be sooooo nice if this were like my pancake mix, just add water and go, that instant gratification, which in the long run is not as sweet as doing it the right way. I know this, and if I keep reminding myself of it, I can work my way through the steps. Oh the great things we will accomplish. Thanks for reading, and if it helps someone else I’ve accomplished a little bit more.

Hi Chris,

Well, I'm the type who'd jump off the boat & on the way down realize I'd not even learnt to swim lol

I've just read the comment from onmyownterms and think we both should listen to those words of wisdom.

I really am here by happy coincidence and loving it, but am now going back to actually do the lessons as I've got way ahead of myself ( but I think that is in part because I'm so use to 'doing my own thing' & figuring stuff out for myself ~ it's quite an alien concept to be in a community with people who want to help you )

Don't get me wrong in 'real life' I'm surrounded by people who love & care about me ~ but they've never understood my inability to 'conform' & they perceive all of this as 'nonsense' & my dad had no patience to teach me anything on the computer ~ He'd happily do it for me, he produced some lovely documents for my Beauty Therapy Business, but he wouldn't show me how to do it. So when I trained to be a Holistic Therapist I bought a 'brick' laptop, that wasn't even able to connect to the internet it was that outdated, just to do my coursework on & with the 'help' button I learnt how to do all kinds of things for myself...

So 'promising' to ask for help, when I need it is a 'huge' thing for me to do...

Kind Regards
Jacqui

PS Keeping replies short & sweet is #2 challenge lol ~ Good Luck

It's that desire for instant gratification that leads many to quit just when they're on the cusp of success. Don't let that happen to you, you've got this.
