Scooters close call

A few years back, we adopted two boys from Ukraine, giving our son David brothers. Since then, our house has been in total chaos. Yesterday, we had abit of a crisis that I wanted to share with you. Below is a timeline of events:

7:08 PM: Dmitri (13 yrs) is sweeping the kitchen floor. Alex and David (both 7 yrs) are upstairs playing video games.

7:10 PM: Dmitri notices that the fish known as Scooter is floating upside down in his bowl. Dmitri screams loudly and alerts the entire county.

7:11 PM: The family musters in the kitchen to observe the floating fish. David (Scooters owner) starts screaming and crying hysterically.

7:12 PM: Dmitri points at the fish and says “David, your fish is in pain and he is dying”.

7:12 PM: David screams louder; Dmitri receives a reprimand is scheduled for sensitivity training.

7:13 PM: Dad quickly scoops out Scooters lifeless corpse and puts it in fresh water.

7:13 PM: David runs into the living room and starts praying loudly for God to save his fish.

7:14 PM: Dad starts making mental arrangements for Scooters burial at sea.

7:14 PM: Alexander asks loudly “David… can I flush Scooter down the toilet?”

7:14 PM: David screams louder; Alex receives a reprimand is scheduled for sensitivity training.

7:15 PM: Dad notices that Scooter is starting to show life signs. Dad deduces that Scooters bowl was dirty, and Scooters gills were clogged. Scooter starts looking like his old self again.

7:16 PM: Dmitri screams loudly and alerts the entire county… Scooter lives!

7:17 PM: David, much happier now, prays and thanks God for saving his fish.

7:18 PM: Alex and David are upstairs playing video games. Dmitri is sweeping the kitchen floor. Dad cleans out Scooters bowl, and cleans up the huge mess in the counter.

7:19 PM: Dad wonders if that cruise line is still having its seven day island special…
