Food for Thought
Hey everyone,
Today, I finally managed to access my web site. Ye ahl!!!
No fault of WA though. Actually realised that my DNS settings were incorrect, thanks Dave for pointing me in the right direction, didn't put the .com on the end duh!!
Any how have been working through setting everything up, enabling plugins, setting up SEO software and have just got to creating pages. So making progress. So decided to have a break.
I started to think about the setting up of the SEO side of things. One of the points, made by kyle, in regard to your Title and Description in the training, was not to concern yourself to much with what you initially put in these sections as it was possible to change these at any time.
My thoughts on this were Why would you need or want to change these at a later point?
The obvious would be that you may later think of a better Title/Description for your website. My understanding of this process is that it affects your ranking in Google, Bing etc. So you would be able to fine tune the wording.
But I ask, could this be a means to targeting what people are currently searching for thus the ability to generate more traffic to your site.
There is the possibility that there is a downside to this.
Question!!! Could this destroy your rankings in google?
Food for thought.
Feedback is welcome

The search engines check your website every so many days, they will pickup on the changes that are made in that section and index you appropriately. I don't think it harms you in any way, although your keywords are very important for indexing you from that part of your website.
The key thing here is that the search engines now a days pick up on new content that has been added to your website, not as much the changing of the SEO part. For now, things will fall into place once you start posting and building your site. It will take on a presence of its own and that is what starts the ball rolling.
I hope this helps,
Dave.
Thanks Dave, wondered if I was overthinking this bit. Am sure things will fall into place as I progress through the training. Just a thought though
