Done Building My First Niche Website
I got excited after building my first niche website!:)
Though minor, it's already an accomplishment for someone with limited knowledge in computers and the internet. Yehey!
The next lesson in setting up website is quite easy....until I got stuck because the EWWW Image Optimizer plug in is not included in my dashboard.
A good man from the community offered help. I did what he suggested and uploaded the plug in. However, the plug in function has been disabled. And now I don't know what to do to move forward with the training.
Can anyone please help?
Thank you. God bless!

Yes Diane, there's Kraken installed but the option is "Deactivate | Settings" so I could not tick the box.
I'm supposed to "activate," right?
Hi - if the only options for Kraken are deactivate or uninstall, then it must already be activated.
Will Ewww be automatically replaced with Kraken or do I need to deactivate it and install Kraken?
Thank you,
Michelle
Hi - I don't know. The training is being re-written for new starters to say that Kraken is the preferred image optimizer, but whether we should all be using it, isn't clear.
Hi - not on my older sites as yet. I have actually created a new site today which has Kraken automatically installed, so I am going to see what features it has first. Plus, I would like to see Kyle's training on it, to see why it is now the default optimizer.

Hi Cinderella,
First of all congratulations on you setting up your first website. It is a great accomplishment and one that should be considered minor.
I just looked at a few other choices you may want to consider.
I use, "Smush" it has more than 1 million downloads, indicating it to be a popular choice.
It is an easy to install and activate plugin. You may have to adjust a few settings here and or just stick with the default settings.
I am pretty sure Kyle uses EWWWW, but I just read Dianne's comment. I see it is still listed in the plugin section. I also checked on Kraken which I am not familiar with having 50K downloads.
You can alway activate and de-activate your plugins till you find one that you are comfortable with.
Wishing you the best,
Michael
Thanks for the message Michael.
Please bear with me because I am new to this kind of thing so don't have any idea how this works. I don't know that it's okay to use other plug ins.
Cinderella,
I will always be here.
How did you make out with the image compression plugin.
We work together at WA, so we all will be successful.
Diane, is a wonderful person and very knowledgeable.
You are making great success, be proud of your accomplishments.

Thanks for the encouragement Michael, I really appreciate it.
I'd like to consider "Smush" just as you suggested. But at this point where I am literally starting from scratch, I think it's easier for me to go on with Kraken since it's the available plug in.
Diane is a great person ready to help others just like you. She said Kraken must be activated since the option is "deactivate" and I believe she's right.
I need a second opinion from you so I can go on with the task.
Thank you.

Hi Cinderella,
Just catching up on my e-mails. Sorry for the delay in replying to you.
All I ask from you is to keep me up to date. You are a winner in my books.
Also do me a favor, look in that mirror and say, "Cinderella you are doing great".
Affirmations are important to success.
Your friend,
Michael
I will, Michael. Thanks.
