How Successful Bloggers Think.

I've been fortunate and blessed to earn a great six figure income with my website. I also have several blogger friends who make similar incomes.

Like anything else in life, some people do really well, some do okay, and many people struggle. I struggled with my blog for YEARS before I eventually succeeded. I'm glad I went through those tough times, paid the price, and eventually figured it out.

What I want to do in this post is share a few "mindset" tips about "how successful bloggers think." Adapting some of these mindsets in your own business will definitely help.

# 1: It is a long-term project

Most successful bloggers think long-term about their blog. They know it takes a few years to get started and see a little bit of money. But, they're always thinking 3, 5, even 10 years ahead for their business. Successful bloggers take the long-term view at all times.

# 2: They don't do everything themselves

All successful bloggers I know of outsource and delegate. They might not have started out that way, but they never waited around and said "I'm not going to invest money until I make money."

# 3: They have a marketing plan

I don't know of any six figure income bloggers who strictly rely on search engine traffic. They will not risk their financial success to what Google thinks about their website. They use a combination of marketing methods and typically have a marketing budget and written marketing plan.

# 4: They focus on 2-5 good income streams

Most successful bloggers sell big ticket items. They aren't trying to get rich with Adsense or Amazon affiliate. They are either selling their own products or services, or affiliate products where they make $20, $50, $100 or more per sale.

# 5: They have an exit strategy or end game

Successful bloggers have an exit strategy or end game. They have an "end goal" in mind for their business, whether that means they will sell it, hire someone else to run it, or continue to work themselves.

# 6: They know their numbers

Successful bloggers keep a close eye on their numbers. They know their traffic stats, their affiliate stats and business numbers at all times. They track these things and keep a close eye on them, because the numbers never lie. If you don't track it you can't improve it.

# 7: They build their email list

Successful bloggers understand their email list is their biggest asset, not their blog. Everything they do is designed to get more people on their email list, not to rank their content higher.

Final Thoughts

I hope you will evaluate yourself in each one of these areas and look for ways to improve your own mindset and blog.
