Follow Up Steps After Posting To Your Website
Guys, you want to be taking advantage of the window of time right after you post to your blog in terms of promotion. Follow these steps to see increased pageviews. It has been a method I have used since starting up my Hanf's Hanger site a little over a week ago, as well as a process that I used about 8 years ago when I had a pretty successful sports blog. Yup, I went from sports to fashion!
Post to these sites after you post on your blog. Trust me, it works.....
1)Facebook (post to your personal page and strongly consider starting a business page like I just did for Hanf's Hanger. Follow me on FB and I will direct you to my Hanf's Hanger page, or just search Hanf's Hanger on FB to see what it looks like)
2)Twitter
3)Pinterest
4) Instagram (awesome one...follow people in your niche, comment, go to the followers of those people, follow them etc..It's a great way to promote)
5)Google +
6)Flipboard (really cool one)
7)Tumblr
8)StumbleUpon
9)Reddit
10)Digg

Hi Chuck. Great advice thank you. I do that with my old blog but am concerned that if I post my first blog to a Facebook page with no followers, it may look bad. Shouldn't I wait until I have a decent amount of content on the blog before creating a presence on social media? Or would you advise to set up the social media channels and post straight away?

no. I would do it! I had about 250 friends on my personal page and have been posting shirts for a week on that page... Today I just created the new Hanf's Hanger page and it has option to invite all your friends from your personal page. So I did that. A couple hours later I have 50 followers and counting. Also, they run promotional ads for small money if that's something you'd want to do. Promoting the site or promoting a post etc.. Good luck.
