Why My First Click Meant More To Me Than My First Sale

There’s one moment on my journey here with WA that still means more to me than my very first sale. This was the day I saw my very first click. OK it was on one of my older websites, but I never forgot it.
It sounds daft, but when I saw that first little click inside my stats, it felt like something had finally worked out for me. It was proof that an actual person out there had visited my website, read something I had written, and then clicked on something I had placed on my website.
Fine, it was not money in my pocket that day, but it meant I was not so much in the dark anymore.
Before that first click, everything felt like a nightmare. You are writing and writing, learning something everyday, publishing, and hoping it all leads to something. You keep hearing that things take time. You keep telling yourself to be patient.
But patience feels quite annoying when you have no signs at all that anything is working or even going to work!
That is why that first click hit me so hard when I saw it. It was the first moment where I said to myself, okay, something is really happening here. Someone out there found my content useful enough to take an action. Even if it was small, it meant my website and all of my efforts were starting to work.

My first sale did come later, and yes, that felt great too. But the sale felt like the next step. The click felt like the moment the door actually opened for me and everything had been worth it.
What surprised me later on is how many people overlook this stage.
Many people think only about the money and miss all the little signs that come before it. But those early signs matter more than we think. Traffic, clicks, impressions, comments. They show that the work you are doing is starting to reach real people.
And once that starts, the rest eventually follows.
If you are still waiting on your first sale, do not underestimate your first click. It is a great moment. It means your content is reaching someone. It means your message is getting through. And it means everything you are building is starting to move in the right direction.
How about you? Do you remember your first click or the moment you first realised something was actually working? Or maybe you are still waiting for that moment?
Let me know!
