Publishing a New Book Soon!

I have to thank WA for this book I am about to publish, because I wouldn't have had the idea otherwise.

I am a published indieauthor. I have 8 books on Amazon, all are fiction, one of them is published under a pen name, the rest under my real name. Here at Wealthy Affiliate, early in my training, after I set up my first website, I decided to set up an author website under my pen name.

Months later I was invited to a local poetry slam contest, and I wrote my first poem in many years. I write free style poems, and the poets who follow the strict poetry rules (and there are many) sometimes look down on writers who participate in poetry slams and/or write free style. I prefer free style though, because it focuses entirely on raw emotion, which is what poetry is all about anyway. It is truly the spoken word.

My first poem got me second place! I was invited to more slams, and suddenly this faucet opened up in my brain, and inspiration kept on flowing.

I am easily inspired to write a story, but I had no idea how much inspiration I had in me to write poetry.

Next step: I shared my poems on my website, and I frequently got the same comments on my posts: "you should make a book of your poems", "you should publish your poems in a book"

The idea started taking shape. There was just this one tiny inconvenience that has stopped me from writing stories (I live with no electricity, yes, sorry, I still have not been able to fix that) ... and a writer who cannot write .... dangerous combination ... Thank goodness we have to write so much content for our websites, that is practically saving me from going insane. :-)

Publishing a book requires much time at the computer, i.e. writing, editing, formatting, disclaimer page, table of contents, book cover, blurb, etc. I dedicate all my computer time to WA, because I simply cannot afford the luxury not to do that. Once I have electricity at home, I will be more flexible with the use of my computer.

I had finally made up my mind though. The book has to be made. So, it was fit into my daily goals, and today I finally started compiling my poems into a book. I am still not sure about the title, but the first steps are finally taken.

And I would like to thank everyone here at WA who inspired me to create this book, because I would seriously have never even thought of publishing my poems. So, thank you for giving me that push!
