I became a Premium Member September 19th - after only a couple days of being a Starter Member. I powered through Level 1 and through three quarters of Level 2 within no time. I was checking off tasks like there was no tomorrow! And then procrastination set in...
I PUT THE “PRO” IN PROCRASTINATION
Once it came to writing the last half of the last post within the tasks in Level 2 it all came to a halt. I found myself doing everything and anything BUT complete that post. I had all the info I needed, it wasn’t a difficult write but for some unknown reason I still found myself avoiding it. My previous two posts had been indexed within days of publishing- that alone should have been incentive enough to complete it. Then I realized why...
INSTANT GRATIFICATION
The reason behind my lack of motivation to write content? Instant gratification - The desire to experience fulfillment without delay.
Being active within the WA community, I could see instant results daily. My rank went from over 200K to now almost 5K, I’ve grown my network to just under 550. Those results were instant (well maybe not instant, it took weeks although much more instant than getting results from my website).
Instant gratification distracts us from long term success. HOW TRUE? That instant gratification I was searching for was fulfilled. But in the end, that is not what is going to propel me forward to reach my goals.

EAT THAT FROG
It’s all too easy to complete the easy and enjoyable tasks first. Which, is exactly what I’ve been doing. Welcoming members, reading blogs and commenting on blogs, answering questions. To me this is the simple stuff.
It’s much more difficult to complete the larger tasks. To sit and buckle down to write content for me is much more difficult. But that’s our money maker!
SHOW ME THE MONEY
I finally got my Level 2 badge! It’s a small feat but still very motivating to continue into Level 3 - Making Money. Now I know making money is not in the near future although that title sure has me excited to get started.
So for now ... I’ll eat that frog!

You go girl, eat that frog. It is something that we all have to do every once and awhile. It is easy to get caught up in the here and now and forget about the long term. But, you are right, we trade the instant gratification for the long-term payoff a lot of the time. Keep up the great work, WTG

OUCH! How true! I have the exact same problem. I like encouraging others, but I find a million reasons to avoid doing what has to be done. Thanks for the kick in the butt!
Hmmm, I'm coming up to that part of the training. Thanks for the insight though, I'm pretty good at procrastination but you know what they say, forewarned is forearmed.....or something to that effect.

You hit the nail on the head. We all get caught up with the social atmosphere of WA. All that is except those that are earning well from successful websites they have concentrated on totally. Jim
