I do hope that anyone who uses WhatAapp will be aware of this, but just incase you haven't, here goes!

If you get a text or an email "inviting" you to upgrade to WhatsApp Gold, which incidentally would involve a payment to upgrade, PLEASE delte the text or email immediately without opening it!

There is no such thing as WhatsApp Gold - it is just one more SCAM, but rather a nasty one.

Apart from initially taking money from you - I'm not sure how much, because I received this warning and did not investigate it any further - if you do open the communication you will immediately release a very unpleasant virus on to your phone, which you very obviously do not want.

I actually do not know how that virus can be removed, because, again, I had no wish to find out!

But please do believe me, and avoid this thing like the plague! I'm sure that you, like me, have no wish to find out further details! And please do pass on this information to anyone elae you know who uses WhatsApp.

But it is important not to use Whatsapp to tell people about this - that is what the scammers want as well, as it will jam up Whatsapp!!

Thank goodness for Weathy Affiliate, which does so much to help us all to recognise and avoid scams!

I wish you all a really good and positive day completely devoid of scams!!

Thank you so much for sharing this information Chrissie! I have the Whatsapp and will make sure that I don't fall for this scam. I will also relay the message to others...
Coreen

Thats good Coreen, thank you :)

Thanks for sharing. I have Whatsapp, but don't regularly use it, so I will watch to make sure I don't click the message!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Please do Karin :)

That is really interesting Nick, thank you :)

Uh, thank you, Crissie.

No problem Anne :)

Thanks Chrissie. Scammers suck.

Mark

Absolutely Mark :)

Also please do not propogate this warning message via whatsapp to your contacts. The intention of the scam is to have the message spammed to millions of whatsapp users and congest the network and or the service.

Thanks for the heads up Chrissie

As you say Nick, and I will amend my post about not using WhatsApp to tell people, thank you :)

Thanks chrissie, I wasn’t aware of it.

You are very welcome Nazia :)

Have you shared this on SM Chrissie so people will share and share ?
Vicki

Not yet Vicki, but I will. Many thanks :)

No problem Michal :)
