Obligatory Introduction

Hello Everyone,

Out of respect for all of you, I must come clean and say that I am posting this because the training requires me to do so. I don't feel reluctant because it's something I don't want to do, I feel relectunt because it doesn't seem like I'm at the stage where I feel like sharing everything I have done. I'm proud of what I've done, and yet, boy what a ways to go it feels like.

Who am I? I am a musician that would enjoy the freedom to pursue music without the normal hang-ups of a 9-5 job. I'm 26 and have never tried an online business before, but do freelance write (which helps with content) and WA seems like an amazing platform. In my pursuit to learn more about the never-ending gear side of music, I decided to choose a niche that allows me to research and post about the equipment that I would like to know more about.

What's my first website? Well, in the interest of this interest, I created a blog called the Music Buy Guide (musicbuyguide.com). I've enjoyed the training, enjoyed creating content, and can't wait to continue exploring everything the music world has to offer. It's my goal to provide high-quality content without simply trying to monetize shitty posts.

Where from here? Well folks, I've got a long ways to go. I would ideally like to publish 2-3 articles a week and would like to begin making money in the next few months. I'm moving to level 3 of the training which covers these steps, so I'm very excited about that. I am also interested in creating a blog that allows me to delve into the true writing I wish to do, which includes philosophy, motivation, meditation, music, and other ambitions. Basically a blog about what's important in the long run and inspires people to never compromise on the life that they wish to live.

Thanks! If you all would like to connect, hit me up! I'm always down for some feedback and enjoy giving it too. Same with comments and other such helpful things. Thank you for your time and good luck y'all!

Hi Christian, welcome to WA and I hope you are able to pursue your goals and dreams through this wonderful platform. Cheers Cass

Thanks Cass! Glad to call you a colleague!

Like wise :)

Hi we are a nosey lot, we love to hear everyone is working towards their goals. All the best. Being self employed is wonderful.

I was raised in a nosey family so I should feel right at home. Thanks for the greeting and I hope to enjoy that self-employment that you're talking about!

Nice first post! WA is good at persuading us to feel comfortable with posting more than we "think" we should (initially). It definitely feels strange to write and then release content, but the more quality content the better. And welcome to the online world as a musician! It's an interesting industry, but I think online ventures are best for us musicians looking to make a living. Best of luck to you, my friend.

Thanks man! Here's to destroying the knocking down the stigma of the starving artist!

Btw, what do you play?

I majored in voice while playing the trumpet on scholarship, then mastered in composition. Tried to run a non-profit for contemporary concert music for 2 years, but was only able to pay other musicians while I lost money so I dissolved the company.

I've been experimenting with WA and affiliate marketing since Jan and it's slow going, but musicians are resilient and determined, so though I'm not making a living quite yet, it has been promising! I think you'll do well -

Noticed you're multi-faceted, too, and play many things! Your entrepreneurial spirit in music will help for online opportunities like WA.

Give me a holler if ever you have questions. I'm not an expert, but after 11 months on WA, I definitely have SOME knowledge haha, though am still learning. Maybe we can help each other out in the future - musicians need to stop treating the industry as a "zero-sum game" and instead, team up!

Man oh man, ain't that the truth. I truly believe in mentorship and collaboration as the best way to learn. It's like jazz or a bunch of teenagers getting together in a garage barely knowing how to play their instruments! If you've got a common interest and passion, then damn something beautiful is bound to happen. Keep me posted on your site, I'd love to comment frequently for ya. I also have an intense interest in yoga and meditation. Thanks man, let's stay in touch!

Definitely agree there - keep adding material to your site! I'll be happy to comment on what you write, too, when you're ready. Let me know if you have any questions along the way, too!

Great 1st WA post-Christian and keep on with your growth online
All the best
Vicki

Thank's Vicki! Much appreciated! I see you're an ambassador. Hopefully I'll get there one day haha!
