First sales! Finally they come after a year at Wealthy Affiliate.
I joined Wealthy Affiliate in January 2020, having already tried and failed at affiliate marketing a number of years prior making just $5 or so with Google Adsense and making no affiliate sales whatsoever.
After finding WA, I had a renewed sense of optimism. The training seemed to be very good, easy to follow, and the community was full of friendly, helpful people!
I slowly worked my way through the training, trying to fit it in when I could. I'm not the fastest writer in the world, so it's taken a while, and I'm still working my way through the OEC training - Level 5 now... Getting there!
I wasn't really expecting much, due to my previous efforts not being the runaway success I'd hoped for, but I decided to check my Amazon Associates account for the first time in a couple of months, to find that I'd made three sales!
Three sales! That means I've made enough qualifying sales not to be kicked off the program!
Two sales in January, and one yesterday! The first two were items totally unrelated to my niche, but the third was featured in one of my posts.
Now I'm not normally one to get very excited, but I was definitely buzzing this time! I decided to check my other Affiliate network accounts, and guess what... Another sale!
This time another product from one of my blog posts!
I'd noticed recently a sudden jump in daily pageviews, so I guess that's partly the reason why I've started to get sales.
Not only that, my Adsense balance is slowly going up. I had nothing up until October 2020. That month I got Ā£0.63. Then I got Ā£6.10 in November, Ā£8.79 in December, and a slightly lower Ā£6.82 in January. I've already got a little this month too!
It all seems to be coming together now; I just need to keep it up, be a little faster and more prolific at writing, although it's been a little difficult lately as I've just moved house, and much of my time is taken up by getting the house ready, as well as a fulltime job.
So to echo many WA blog posts in the past, the training here really does work! If you're wondering whether to try Wealthy Affiliate, or have just joined with a free account, I would definitely recommend you sign up to premium (or premium plus) membership and make the most out of the fantastic training and community here.
It's hard work, and success won't happen overnight, but stick with it, and you'll get there eventually!
Hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here.
Here's to success for all of us!
Chreers,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Firstly, congratulations on sticking with the training and succeeding in creating an income generating website. That's brilliant!!
Secondly, thank you so much for taking the time to share your story. I've been on WA for three months and my progress has been slower than I'd like. The blog post is just what newbie's like me need to be reading.
Well done Chris! I look forward to hearing more about your successes in the future.
Matt
Thanks so much Matt.
In reality, I wasn't really expecting much as I had not done so well with previous websites.
Just goes to show that if you put the work in, you can benefit in the long run.
Even if your progress is slow, eventually you should get there as long as you keep going and don't give up!
Good luck to you, and keep at it!
Chris, congratulations!!
Forget the number, what you have done is learned that what we are taught here REALLY works.
As you say in one of your comments below, if you do more, you will gain more.
Now that you have a hang of what is required, up the ante and produce more content.
Wishing you continued success.
Cassi
Thanks Cassi,
I definitely will produce more content. I had a pretty good session of keyword research last week, so will use some of those in the coming posts.
Also it's posts like yours too that inspire the rest of us to keep going. I'm glad I can finally share my own small success story with the community.
Continued success to you too!
Chris
That is very kind of you, Chris.
It is good to know that my sharing is helpful.
WA offers us tremendous opportunities.
What is required is an openness to learning and feedback and the commitment to keep going, no matter what.
I look forward to much more success.
Cassi
Congratulations on your successes Chris, I joined January 2019, can't believe it has been 2+ years. I have been neglecting WA Premium, fortunately I retired in 2000 as VP of Sales/Marketing/Intl Bus Dev for Online Trading Academy, https://www.tradingacademy.com/, started as a customer and then ran the company for 3 amazing years, 1997-2000, when thousands of people wanted freedom and independence and wanted to learn how to do day trading for a living. I cashed out in 2000 and didn't do much for about 4 years, until my pastor Rick Warren ask me to do "Purpose Driven Life" seminars in Indonesia August and September 2004, loved every minute of that journey. Then earthquake/tsunami hit Indonesia December 25, 2004 and I ended up as tsunami Relief Coordinator for Saddleback church, brought my 1st volunteer team to Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia January 3, 2005. I have now been back and forth 33 times and since then we have started a number of small businesses there to help the people get back to life. My wife wanted to stay so we started a handbag factory which flourished beyond our dreams, check our story here, https://www.laga-handbags.com/about/. We do have a web developer for that site, and now I fully understand how difficult it is to make a website that will bring in $. Keep up and keep moving Chris, wishing you much success and significance. Best from Long Beach CA...
Thank you Roy!
Wow! Seems like you have had quite a journey! I'm glad things are going well for you.
Take care
Chris
Thank you Chris, the adventure and journey continues. I just re-booked an 8 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to the Caribbean on RC newest ship Odyssey of the Seas, https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/odyssey-of-the-seas, December 4-12, 2021. Keep me posted on your progress. Best, Roy
Wow! nice reading about your accomplishment here, Chris! Congratulation!
Good motivation and a good example for everyone. Me, too, no need to be in a hurry make things slowly and carefully. If you are really consistent with what you are doing, you'll get there sooner or later. Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Joyce
Thanks Joyce
Yes, I do think consistency is key, although I'd like to hurry it up a little :)
Hope you are doing well, and enjoying your journey.
Best regards,
Chris

Congratulations on your recent sales. That is such terrific news.
It does take time to grow the traffic and get enough volume to make noticeable sales.
One thing that is exciting to watch now is the keywords you website is ranking for which can be checked in Jaaxy and in Google Search Console.
We wish you many. many more sales. Glad you are sticking with it.
Thanks so much! Onwards and upwards...
