Two months here with Wealthy Affiliate: Progress Update
Hey one and all here at WA.
This is my progress report as encouraged in training level 4, 7 of 10. :o/
To be truthful, I passed this stage in training a few weeks back and didn't prepare a blog or update and left that section of training unticked.
I guess it's because of who I am. I'm incredibly private and not one to say 'hey look what I've achieved' in a blog or post. But I see the value in sharing our progress and I also need to tick that box in training ;o)
And so...
I signed up to Premium membership on 3rd July 2023, two months and two days ago. It is crazy to think that it's only been two months.
I had no experience whatsoever in the field of Affiliate Marketing, and kinda fell upon WA in a round about way, knowing nothing about it, and or it's members.
Where I'm at:
During the two months and two days period I've been here its actually ridiculous what I have learned and what I have been able to achieve.
I literally started from scratch - being that super private kinda gal, I don't do facebook, twitter or any social media posting, very limited with instagram merely because my little one made me sign up to it! She's very bossy, ahem I mean sassy.
Point being is I literally was starting from the bottom.
I now have a decent looking website (I'm happy with it), 46 posts, 3 pages, 75,791 words written according to site content, 100 site comments, site health status is 'Good' currently passing all site health checks. SEO is a nice 83/100 - I'd like 100 but I have read via other members blogs/posts that its not an absolute must and SEO is not always 100% accurate.
I have a Pinterest account with over 5k monthly views, not quite sure how, but there it is. I need to work on FB, X and Insta. I will get there (I think). I am literally having to learn each one from scratch and with all the other pressing matters needed to develop the site, it's taking time. Still, I am happy with the progress I have made thus far and know if I can keep at it, these challenges of learning all things new will become easier in time.
I still need to complete levels 4 & 5 of training, I'm halfway through both, but in all honesty, I stopped training temporarily (don't judge me please :o/) to go back and tweak, refine and redo many of my initial posts as I realised I had missed adding important elements to them whilst still so new and green and I didn't want to continue on a poor SEO path. I will recommence training again imminently.
Highs n Lows:
It's been an insanely fast and bumpy ride, lots of positives, alas a few negatives. But overall, an incredible period of growth both personally and for my website and for my hopes of building an online business and income.
I am quite pleased with how the website looks and the responses I have received in the Site feedback forum - thanks to those who have offered comments and objective critique. Of course, there's so much more I want to add, tweak, improve, but with only 2 months and 2 days under my belt, I'm happy with what I have been able to achieve thus far. Admittedly, there have been a few moments when I think banging my head against a wall might have been easier, but it would have hurt so I didn't!
WA & Community:
The training given is great, it's detailed and organised (could do with a few updates though #justsaying. Sorry Kyle, I know you must be incredibly busy with probably a g'zillion daily emails). The additional support of the WA community is superb.
Any question you ask is met with several responses. If anything (I know this sounds bizarre), at times too helpful as there is often so much feedback with various members providing response of information and links to other teaching aids, but that's not a complaint, more an observation of the desire from the WA community to help others. It's quite remarkable.
Where it hasn't been clear in training, there is an abundance of additional support and information available and that search button is gold!
I have learned incredible amounts and continue to learn each and every day - thanks to all at WA.
Plan is to keep on keeping on:
Keep on cracking out that content - content is king I hear (read) over and over! I need/want to understand the back office a little more, working through the site analytics, understanding the SEO checklists a little more in order to refine and improve site speeds and optimisation.
And of course the ultimate goal is to be able to monetise the website and increase traffic flow, all of which I know will come in time, as I continue to pump out that uniquely interesting and engaging content.
For me to have found my way through Wordpress as I have, and develop a good looking, well navigated website as I have, is testament to WA & the community.
To those who have supported, responded and guided, I express my sincere thanks to you.
To those just starting out, unsure and uncertain, perhaps a tad overwhelmed - it will all come good. If you want it, you can achieve it. It is hard going, there is hard work involved and it's not always straight forward, but there is an eager WA community ready to help and for those reaching out, that help will be abundant.
It has been a crazy 2 months, 2 days. I know I have further crazy, albeit perhaps more organised days, weeks, months ahead, and I am looking forward to what the following months may bring, aside from yet more content! ;o)
Thanks for taking the time to read, feel free to drop me your thoughts, comments and/or personal experiences (regarding this post naturally, not life generally, although if you want to, that's cool too).
Keep cool, and keep WA'ing.
Cherie :o)
