A Funny Old Week
Well I can honestly say that I have felt this has been a funny old week. There have been good things happen during the week but there have also been bad things happen during the week as well.
As you know, I did a blog on Wednesday on the mudslide in Santa Barbara County which I think was so sad for all those people that had been caught up in this tragedy and I saw yesterday that the youngest person who lost their life was a 3 year old girl and the oldest was a gentleman who had celebrated his 89th birthday the day before.
Now also on Wednesday I noticed that my rank had jumped to 24 and I received my Ambassadors flag again for the 3rd time. I could have had some fun and did a nice happy funny blog but because of the news I had watched that morning I decided against it as It didn't feel appropriate to celebrate when I was feeling sad.
Hence the reason that I waited until Thursday to blog about getting my Ambassadors flag. I did a very low key blog as I still didn't think it was appropriate to make it a big affair as I would normally have done.
I feel that this week has been rather a quiet one for me here but I will do my best to do more next week.

I’m ok thanks Chez, I had a couple of drams last night and a little tired today. I think I answered 80+ messages.

Was it a late night then Wayne, 80+ messages is a lot, hope you weren't talking rubbish by end after having a couple of drams.
I had 3 rather large bailey's on Friday night but none last night. May have a couple tonight but not sure yet.

Good things happen even while bad things are happening. Life can be so funny that way. Congrats on the good stuff, so sorry to hear about the bad.
You are right Jeannine and that is very true, good and bad things can happen at the same time and it was proven on Wednesday. It is just so sad though that people lost their lives and people lost members of their families. xxxx
I truly understand that. I live in the county where a police officer was killed about two weeks ago by a crazed veteran. Left behind a sweet wife and two young daughters. I was depressed for many days about that.
I'm not surprised Jeannine, that is so sad and his poor wife and two young daughters must be devastated. Poor guy just doing his job and it only takes that one crazy person. I always think a natural disaster is bad enough but this is so much worse. I would have been the same as yourself, it would have depressed me too. xxx
One tiny glimmer of hope for our world was the generosity of the public via their go-fund me page. His wife shouldn't have to worry about the mortgage or college, so that's at least a blessing through all of this.
That is good to hear and it is amazing how generous the public are when these sort of things happen. As you say, at least its a blessing for her not having to worry about these things as well. xxx

Yes the news of the mudslide is very disturbing and sad. California has been hit with many things this year.
We can only hope for a speedy recovery time and the people can be spared any further destruction.
Hi Cara, it really is so sad, the people who have died has now risen to 18 and there is still people missing.
I hope they are spared from anything else like this for this year. Poor people. xxxx

Hi Jae, thanks and I will most certainly try and stay for a while longer. It is so very easy to get caught up here in the community and be chatting rather than getting other things done. I have been there too lol. Don't worry about your rank as it will climb again and it's not the be all or end all when it slips back.
