The power of positive thinking
"The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino:
Once upon a time, there was a young salesman named Jack who dreamed of becoming the best in his field. He had read every book, attended every seminar, and practiced his pitch tirelessly. But despite his efforts, he couldn't seem to close any deals.
Feeling discouraged and frustrated, Jack turned to the scrolls of the greatest salesman in the world for guidance. He read the words aloud, "I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step."
Inspired by these words, Jack decided to keep going, even when it seemed like he was getting nowhere. He greeted each day with love in his heart, looking for opportunities to connect with his clients and build meaningful relationships.
When faced with rejection or setbacks, Jack reminded himself to live in the present moment and appreciate the beauty of life around him. He prayed for guidance and trusted that he was on the right path, even when it felt uncertain.
And slowly but surely, Jack's persistence paid off. He landed his first big sale, then another, and another. He acted with confidence and courage, knowing that procrastination and fear would only hold him back.
Years later, as Jack looked back on his successful career, he realized that it wasn't just about the money or the accolades. It was about the journey, the lessons he learned along the way, and the person he had become in the process.
And so, Jack continued to persist until he succeeded, always taking another step forward with love in his heart and gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in the world.

I have read this book many times when I was in direct sales decades ago. I still have the well highlighted and marked up copy.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Og Mandino in Vancouver, B.C. at a conference and telling him how much his book influenced me. Thank you for the beautiful reminder Chet.
