Below 200 Doesn't Mean Experienced!
So I've been here since 16th August 2015 and for some reason I'm under the 200 which is a total surprise and I wonder how many of you under 200s have actually made sales?
I think I'm a bit of a slow starter and although I've been putting content in regularly, I do have a feeling that my niche is perhaps rather limited which I'm not bothered about, as long as the site is helpful. Nontheless, I'm writing this blog for a specific reason.
I welcomed a new member today Gina GinaGw, Hello Gina if you're looking at this blog. Give her a welcome everyone. She is a graphic designer and asked the question - "How successful have you become with Wealthy affiliate if you don't mind me asking?"
You can see my answer if you go to her profile page. Thing is, I hope the youngsters particularly, are not put off by the time it takes to get their Internet Marketing site 'cooking on gas'. I really don't think I'm a good example to encourage newbies to stay with us and go for it, being a rather inexperienced member.
I would much appreciate it if some of you, who are more experienced, could give Gina a bit of encouragement and give her the lowdown on how and why you have got to where you are.
I think newbies may see a ranking under 200 and think everyone there must be a very experienced and/or successful Internet Marketer, which I'm not. I would hate it if those joining this incredible community were put off by my particular lack of success thus far.
Despite not having a sale yet, I'm having a blast here. My learning experience is a 'Baptism of Fire', talk about being thrown in the deep end, but I'm not drowning, my swimming strokes are getting stronger by the day!

Hi Ches. I know where you are coming from. I have a ranking of 458 and while I really enjoy seeing what other WAers are up to it, by No means, reflects my expertise. I just checked (and lost this message so had to start again) and I am following 222 people but have over 390 following me. I am stuck on my website and will be asking for help so heaven help anyone who is following me closely cos they would be as lost as I am. While I have tried to follow back I have no idea where the extra 170 or so members have come from. So I apologise to those people. I will get around to following you soon. Hi Ken, you seem to be in the exact same position as me. I had to ask two questions yesterday which shows how much I'm in the dark about this IM stuff. If someone asks me for help it will like the blind leading the blind! What are you stuck on by the way it may be the same thing I'm stuck on! Ches
I share your feeling. I'm just hanging in there and interacting and working hard... that doesn't mean I have a clue yet! LOL -Alexx
I am living proof that the Top 200 doesn't mean experienced. I am still very new and very confused when it comes to the online marketing world and I still have a lot to learn.
I try to help as many people as I can with what I know within the community, but I still need to learn a lot about building out my own websites and in some cases I am struggling.
No need to worry about the Top 200, that is just a goal within WA for most people :)
You dont need to worry too much of being top 200 or top 20, the rankings are to show how active you are in the community, but there are only 24 hours in a day,you can only be active here and still have enough time for your sites.
It is not so much about sales, it is about how active your in the community, whilst I try and help where I can I am more focused on building my sites after all we are all seeking to rank well on google as it helps grow our business

Addiction is probably the right word PJ. Perhaps there should be a WA anonymous rather than alcoholics!
Being below 200 means that your are active and participating in the WA world. Which in time will turn into learning and making profits. Profits in the internet world is not an overnight thing. It takes time and patience and work. This isn't an easy task, but WA makes it easier to understand and helps you achieve your goals. Jim

Great comment and true. Like anything it takes time to learn and become an expert. Some who are making a lot are not necessarily in the top 200 as they don't need to be so active as they don't need to learn as much as people like us do :)! Some are very active still as they like contributing training and blogs to assist people like us:)!

Yes, it could be that apart from Kyle and Carson and a few others, the majority of the 'successful' WAers are down the rankings as they probably don't have the time to be so involved as the top 200 or so are. Ches
