Are you going to Vegas?

If you're lucky enough to have won the coveted trip to Las Vegas, congratulations and have a wonderful time. Perhaps Vegas is on your 'bucket list' as it was ours and you're soon off to experience its wonders, but...

I don't know how the WA trips work but I would image that when you're not under the wing of Kyle and co., you go off and explore the famous city for yourself.

I'm a Grandma and I've been around the block a few times. Believe it or not, I was young once and had some good and bad experiences in my earlier years, when I was rather a good looking woman. Let's just say I'm streetwise. But despite my lifes experiences, I was really dismayed and shocked as to how Vegas is out of control with its prostitution and pimping. We all know the casinos run Vegas, have you ever seen a bank there? You won't, casinos control all finances and I suspect they control much of police enforcement too. Otherwise the large blind eye that is turned by the police wouldn't be so apparent and blatant.

For those of you who really want to know the real Vegas, the video link below will give you an idea of the seedier side and the suffering that goes on behind the scenes. Please be aware that if you buy an 'escort' she could be an abducted sex slave, forced into what she does by unscrupulous, ruthless and stony-hearted pimps who may have even abducted her from her home, like the unfortunate woman in this video.

Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas but you wouldn't know it and most who visit Vegas don't know it either. Outside casinos, crowding the sidewalks, are sex salesmen in multi-colored shirts and bandanas flicking escort cards. Meanwhile trucks motor down Las Vegas Boulevard pulling a giant advertising wall in tow. On them is written, "Just call this number for Girls direct to you.”

On the pavement are scattered discarded pictures of undressed young girls and women. As I walked along the strip, I picked up a few cards and pondered over the pictures of these girls. I concluded that these images being trampled underfoot were quite an analogy and also wondered, whose daughters are you?

If you do go to Vegas, have a great time but be aware. If you buy an 'escort' think; who is this girl I'm with, how old is she, does she do this because she wants to? Whatever your conclusions, treat her with respect, courtesy and sensitivity. Don't abuse her, she could be your daughter, your sister, your cousin, your friend, who knows.

By the way, if you have young children, this is not the city for them. If you are there with your young daughter, don't let her out of your sight. Vegas is seething with unscrupulous pimps and many young girls have been snatched. Here's a recent news snippet. It looks like 2 young sisters have now been lost to Vegas.

Metro is seeking the public's help in finding two girls reported missing Tuesday night in the area of Las Vegas Boulevard, Amayah Singleton, 7 years and Alexis Singleton 10 years.

I have visited the states quite a few times but as yet have not made Vegas so have added it to my list and who knows

If you go, do some homework first so you know where you want to visit and what you want to do, otherwise it is overwhelming. We were like rabbits in the headlights! Ches

Happily agreeing with you, Chessie. I was once a resident of Los Angeles and about 4 hours car trip to Sin City (as popularly known). For fun of trying your luck to win and watching the shows....great!
Season's Greetings!

If you know what to expect, then it's an experience. It's a city on steroids. The shows are spectacular in content and price. Merry Xmas to you and have a happy 2016. Ches

To be quite honest Loes, it's a bucket list item I'm quite happy to cross off! If you're counter did go to zero, I wonder if Kyle would give the money in lieu?
