Getting Started
So far, I think I'm on track. Trying to set up my website and work through the tutorials. I'm a piano instructor and composer. As a musician, we often wear different hats within this arena.
Where did it all begin?
I was not lucky enough to be born into a loving family that had rich heritage. Nope! I was placed in foster care, the first time, in first grade. In and out, but eventually permanetly in. My foster family was a church going family, so that's where I saw and heard my first piano. The music was an instant draw to my soul. Another elderly woman, volunteered to teach me what she knew on the piano. After 2 years, she recommended my folks find a professional teacher since I apparently had learned everything she could teach me.
The big dog.
My folks found a qualified teacher for my instruction. The only problem was I had to audition. I wasn't that good, but her husband worked for my foster dad, who, I'm pretty sure, pulled some strings to get this teacher to take me as a student. I was thrilled! She was a pracitice pianist in New York for Mikhail Baryshnikov and had worked with Nat King Cole. Being Canadian she had studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music and was an amazing instructor.
Years later.
I've always had a passion for the piano and music. After college, I took the plunge and started my own piano teaching studio which has turned into a wonderful business. Even though I love doing what I do, the income is limited. If I'm not able to teach, I don't make money. So. here I am, trying to learn the latest about increasing my income with wealthy affiliate. So as I write my first blog within Wealthy Affiliates, these are the thoughts that came to my mind.

Awesome post, Cheryl--you might want to reach out to Janie--she is trying to coordinate musicians throughout the platform for some different ideas! It sounds like with your background you would fit right in--just a thought after reading your post!

So exciting Cheryl,
I have come across a number of individuals who have been able to channel their musical careers and interests into a successful online business, and not only connect with and help a lot more people, but also earn a much better income.
Best of luck to you!
Jacquie
Thanks, I'm still trying to see how that is going to work. But I'm continuing the step by step training.

From what I have learnt, the main thing is to continue to search for and hone in on your niche.
Who do you love to help? What aspects are you most passionate about? Where do you have unique insights that make people say "Wow" or give them a big "aha" moment?
These are your first clues as to how you can put it all together.
I'm glad you've found something you love. Music is a wonderful and uplifting field. It's nice that some people can come through a rough upbringing and still find love and hope to share with others. :)
